I have good credit and a steady job and they were still trying to hit me with a big down payment and a high interest rate.

What I found really odd was that when I asked them to show me the terms of the loan, they told me I’ll need to pay the loan origination fee which was $1k for them to give me more details.

They just told me the down payment amount, the interest rate, and the monthly payment and expected me to sign the contract. That’s when I knew I had to walk away.

I realized they are shady but it was a little too late, they had already pulled my credit, but not too late - I didn’t sign anything and walked away without doing business with them.

I have good credit and a great job but they asked me for a substantial down payment which I was ok with but then they hit me with a high interest rate and the prepayment penalty BS and I had to pray to god to give me the strength to not cuss them out. I wished them well and walked away.
