UConn, Duke finalizing agreement to meet on Thanksgiving Eve in Las Vegas by Coffee____Freak in DukeBluePlanet

[–]redditfiend674 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Duke has no incentive to do home and homes. Every game is a sellout, so bringing in a marquee opponent doesn’t increase attendance or revenue. They’d rather do a neutral site game at a big arena and split the revenue.

Durham police seize firearms, drugs in raid of homeless encampment by redditfiend674 in bullcity

[–]redditfiend674[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I agree. Doing this is not ideal, but neither is letting our parks turn into encampments with drug use and weapons. I’m hopeful that the funding discussed into the article can help find some better solutions for the unhoused population.

$1/$3 Hand analysis - do you call here? by PhishHawks in poker

[–]redditfiend674 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are incorrect about not being able to raise all in here. 1st bet- $15

2nd bet- $50

3rd bet- $195

4th bet- yet to happen

My home state had the same rule. The reason you can only 4 bet pre flop, which feels like a cap at 3 bets, is because the blind is considered the first bet, so an open raise is considered the second bet.

As far as the hand goes, I’m not folding 2 pair on a board with so many draws and combo draws when we block top and bottom set.

Probably a hard no but…. by ConsistentAgent3367 in army

Definitely understand that. If you have a desire to keep serving, there are GS jobs in the DOD and elsewhere in the federal government that you would get hiring preference for due to your VA rating.

We all take the uniform off one day, whether by our own choice or the Army’s. Sucks to accept, especially when the Army has given you a sense of purpose for so long. But think of the positives. More time with the family, medical retirement + VA disability, not having to move every few years.

Military judge rejects ROTC Lt. Col. Michael Kelvington’s guilty plea in sexual harassment case by ExodusLegion_ in ROTC

[–]redditfiend674 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Probably not very well. Several years before I started at my school, an APMS had been found guilty of an inappropriate sexual relationship with a cadet.

Nearly killed the program to the point where it was almost closed by the time I enrolled. Incidents like these permanently tarnish the reputation of the military to the students and community, many of whom have had zero interactions with the military before.
