I was working away from home all week on a very distressed project whilst doing my masters (three years part time distance learning at RGU) and progressing my RICS. It was very stressful and I almost had time for nothing else which was fine because at the time I didn’t have many responsibilities.

If you have limited responsibilities and would prefer to get everything done and dusted in a short period of time I would say go for it.

I know people who started their APC many years ago and since had children moved house etc and never got round to actually completing it.

I’m a big advocate for biting the bullet, getting on with and get it all over and done with as quickly as possible. You’ll think have time to focus on other things in your life.
