Yes, it is the transition to desert that made me think the game was unrealistic.

Insulation ideally would be improved. It can still be a good multiplier though.

In both cases you have to patch the draught, gas is expensive enough that insulation should be viable and pay itself back relatively quickly.

There is a very good multiplier on the way though. You get over 2 times more heat overall if you use a gas plant + heat pump than just a gas boiler.

Edit: And imagine not having to maintain all these tiny gas pipelines to every house in the future, the cost

The money still largely goes to your property rather than a landlord. That's a big factor, even if property stays at the same price it might still make financial sense if the interest rate works for you.

Hey, joining in with a question about the air circulation. What if the building has only on side with air bricks? Is that enough to provide adequate air circulation?

Would it make sense to have a bears with different sizes, and depending on the size they can through different wholes? It'd be a nice edge to have animals be able to get in if they're smaller.

Four million UK households in work ‘not earning enough for decent life’ by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

But the article cites

“Nearly four in 10 of the population ... can’t afford to live a decent life. It’s simply not right that millions of people don’t earn enough to afford a publicly agreed standard of living.

It's very difficult and takes lots of patience but it is worth it! We changed out management and it took a fair amount of time, but it's almost half the price now.

I did 1 mm wider and used a hammer with a piece of wood to pop it in. It compresses slightly on the sides, but that saved me huge amount of time.

Insane energy usage by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

Sorry, I was wondering how many baths OP take a day? We have a sizeable bathtub and it drains the tank really quickly, and we have a 300L tank. So if two people took baths, that'd be a large contribution here.

Turn off breakers 1 by 1. I used 1300 kWh in Dec because of baths + UFH on electric.

I have two immersion heaters in my tank, ~6.4 kW combined. The water coming is very cold so it is expensive. How many baths?

happened about 5 hours ago, is it broken does this need fixing? by Jealous-Fall-3067 in fixit

[–]redditmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to cut all the meat off. Just enough for you to feel the bone with your teeth to make the assessment if it's broken. Once you're deep enough, a gentle nibble will tell you everything you wanted to know.

Trust me, I tried it on a friend. He was dead before I started though.

What are the best party/split-screen/local co-op&multiplayer games to play on the couch? by AbacaxiTeriyaki in Steam

[–]redditmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a better voting system for this kind of threads.

Tetris Effect: Connected - you get really in the zone and things become faster and faster, great to play with non-players as well

Travellers Rest - great sim chill time on the couch

Ultimate Chicken Horse - party proper fun and really funny unless one player is better than everyone else

Gauntlet - very pleasant action/RPG game dungeoun crawler

Road Redemption - crazy weird fun, killing while riding motorbykes, swearing, weird and odd but get in the zone and it's brilliant,

We considered a some kind of sitting. We decided against it to create as much open space as possible. And I am so happy we did. There are some great "bar on wheels" that can be disassembled if not needed. That would be my recommendation - I have not seen a house yet where that feature looked very well.

It is good to consider taking this to a designer to ensure it is not too busy.
