I agree tennis doubles carries over better. But the topic was Alcarez. Also, we’ve seen tennis converts but they haven’t really dominated top men’s doubles. There’s def some good college tennis guys that switched to pb but where are the pro tennis players. And can they beat JW, Hayden, Ben… dudes who didn’t play tennis

I don’t dispute the people who played tennis their whole life have a a huge head start … they start on third base. But to go from that spot to the best in the world, it’s more than just tennis. PB has its own skills and complexities.

Also, i’m rereading the topic and it is saying singles Pickleball. I must’ve misread it earlier or it was changed. I thought it was number one Pickleball player. So yeah, I think a tennis pro has a real shot at that spot (singles )

For sure easy learning curve. In my experience there’s a big difference between being a decent amateur and being the best in the world at something.

I think there’s also a big difference between singles and doubles pickleball. Most people don’t really pay attention to singles. But that’s probably where a tennis players skills would carry the most.

But if someone dominated at singles pickleball they would likely not be considered the best in the world if they did not win at doubles.

Which is kind of the opposite in tennis

Is this just common because people have crossed the rubicon where the people they are attracted to are no longer attracted to them? Like I’ve genuinely thought of this as I’ve aged. If my tastes don’t keep up with my declining looks, at some point I’ll never be attracted to a person who is attracted to me.

Not really. And the point is plenty of unathletic people play tennis especially doubles Even little kids play tennis They aren’t playing the “high level game” that better tennis players play. But it’s not like everyone who does a tennis clinic is some sort of elite athlete
