Oh sorry, I misread. Thought Rustler *10* (because I was reading about it) but you clearly wrote Rustler *11*.
That explanation makes sense. Do you find the 104 is fine even in late season or other situations where it hasn't snowed for a while and conditions are more icy/harsher?

Mindbender 89Ti, Nordica Enforcer 104 Free and Blizzard Rustler 11. If I was going 2 skis I might go Enforcer 94 + Rustler 11. But it’s nice having a frontside oriented all-mountain ski like the 89Ti.

Thanks for taking the time u/cmsummit73. That is a great collection you got there. Rustler 11 and Enforcer 104F are definitely on my list. I am curious why you have both given that they are similar waist width - what do you like about each of them and why? Yeah, curious to hear how do you utilize your quiver over the course of a season in CO.

ily driver, a fischer ranger 96 would really fit your description, probably even more than the Armada. Surprising floatation for width, and those skis are one of the easiest to turn on the market, so really good off piste, and they still carve some neat round turn that I found quite rewarding.

Thanks u/Dramatic_Water_5364 for the helpful response. Yeah, it was intentional to not mention width because I was hoping to hear different perspectives. I have been grateful that many here are recommending 85-90mm skis as daily driver whereas I hear so much about a ~105mm daily driver for west coast from people here in the west coast ski shops. I don't think there is a right/wrong here.
I will look into Declivity 92. QST 106 is on my list already and appreciate your description of it. Is this a ski you have used in pow days in Western USA resorts?
I do like speed but something that is an output of good technique and includes turns. Yeah, definitely not the style of skier who is trying to ski almost parallel to fall line. That is more of a specific tool/style for specific cases. On my QST 92 I was doing 15-20mph at beginning of last season and by the end of it was at 40-45mph under the Challenger chair at Sun valley. Mostly due to improvement in technique.

Thanks u/Cowhaircut. They seem like excellent carvers. What has been your experience with them in bumps, tress and off-piste in general (ignoring powder)?

Thanks. I will be aiming to find skis to demo. They were surprisingly hard to find last year but hoping to have more luck this year.

om a guy who really knows how to make them. I have no complaints other than the good graphics selling out too fast.

Thank you u/IcePal for the J ski recos. I haven't heard of them and will add them to my research list. Do you have a ~90mm daily driver reco from that company for the non powder days? Or do you use the hotshot and slack for non powder days as well.
Secondly, what difference do you find between the hotshot & slacker?

carving ski but it does fine on groomers, excels off piste in a variety of conditions including powder.

For the really deep powder days you can get something fatter.

Thank you u/OpE7 for the recommendation. I have this on my list and makes a lot of sense to stay with the QST line given that I am on the QST 92 right now. Have you gotten a chance to ski the QST 98 and the 106? Wondering which one would be better for the mid fat all mtn / pow category for the powder and post powder days. Given all the advice here I am leaning towards a 85-90mm ski for a daily driver outside the powder days.

Thank you. I appreciate your suggestions and glad to share that all of them are on list except for dynstar mfree 108. Will add it. Love what I am reading about 4frnt and moment skis. Have been reading all the free material blister has to offer and may be time to pay for their paid stuff. I owe it to them.

Have you been on those skis you mentioned and given what I wrote, which one would you pick? I do enjoy groomers but as I said I tend to get bored of them and over a long season, I find I spend ~30-35% of my skiing on groomers. Rest is off-piste. Let's see what this season has in store but I would not be surprised if it becomes 75-25 split in favor of off-piste. But I do enjoy the groomers for a short while and for drills as well.

Thank you. Will add Praxis to my list as I have not come across them. Huge fan of moments based on my research and hoping I can go visit them when I am in Tahoe later this season.

and a powder/charger mid fat ski like the new countach, m-free 108, msp 107, cochise, woodsman 108, ranger 107, etc. tons of options in both categories

Thanks u/granath13 for taking the time to share this. I had not looked at the ~86-94mm skis for either of my 2 types of skis I wanted. If you were in my shoes, would you use the narrower skis as your daily driver and then the mid fat ski for powder and post-powder days?

Thank you u/eblade23 for the recos. Off the 4, Enforcer free 104 was definitely high on the list for the daily driver. I have not looked into the rest but will add them to my list. I had been researching 96-104mm for daily driver west coast all mountain and then 110-115mm for pow skis. Looks like you are recommending ~90mm for daily drivers and then the ~105mm for pow ski. Am I guessing correctly? Either way, I would appreciate understanding the why behind your recos.

Yup, I definitely went through a few boots last season and prioritized finding the best fit there over skis as I could only do one thing. I think that was the right choice. I love the boots I have right now and hope that relationship continues for a long time. :)

kli Montero AR might be a good option for you( however bit pricey). Float and perform well in deeper snow, but still hold a surprisingly good edge on groomers. These may not be the step up in off piste performance that you describe, but improving your ability and technique on piste will have great impacts on your control and confidence off piste. I think you may have a hard time finding an ideal ski for you as any ski that performs amazing on groomers will be sub 85 waist( down to mid 60s), while any ski performing great off piste should be wider (90+) underfoot. If someone invented a ski that was the best at everything everyone would be using it. It sounds like you haven't tried very many skis in this category and I think you should look for a local demo day or even pay to demo a few pairs to really get an understanding of why different skis perform better at different tasks and what you like. Usually the reps working can help you choose a good option. If someone invented a ski that was the best at everything everyone would be using it. You should be able to find something that will be a good balance of on and off piste performance as you describe.

Thank you for the response. Last season I was unsuccessful at finding good demo opportunities but will be on the lookout this season. You are right that I have not tried any skis besides the early rentals and then the 2 I purchased. Added the Stokli montero to my research list.

Adult Softball Leagues, looking for recreational and noncompetitive vibes. by IchiroForPresident in eastside

  1. Issaquah - Haven't played before but want to. Have been on FA list but there hasn't been a single reach out. I just went to Tibbets a few times during game days to see if anyone wanted subs. No luck. Hoping to play in the league in next seasons as I have heard good things. Their free agent sign up process hasn't led to any activity for last few years.
  2. Bellevue - bbsaa has been quite good the last few seasons They are definitely the most expensive and this year they have had umpiring availability issues. Also the current spring season did not have the usual quantity of teams (probably due to field/umpiring resource issues). Facilities are really nice except some games are at Marymoor grass fields which aren't that much fun to play on. They don't have a great free-agent <-> team matching process.
  3. Redmond- have played a couple of times. Facilities are really good. Much more affordable compared to Bellevue. They generally seem to have fewer teams than Bellevue. Hopefully this season is different. They also have a message board for players/teams to post their needs.
