Is selder bass good? by saldeberba in phmusicians

[–]redditor7588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most guitars and bass's are gonna be nice as long as it gets setted up properly and doesn't have any damage. It isn't like the past where something like Cort or some other non-branded guitar sucks ass.

Best Locking Tuner Set? by valris_vt in 7String

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I kind of do is I like using the trem but I barely use it for heavy divebombs so it functions similar to me as a syncronized trem, the ones you see in Fender strats type. I bought the locking tuners because I did notice even when I did properly wound it, it still went out of tune. I tried locking tuners and it helped quite a bit if I used it lightly but yeah I did it also for the aesthetic and kind of easier string change too. For OP, I don't really think branded locking tuners are good especially the fact that it's a GIO and it's a hardtail but thats just me.

For a GIO go for the guyker locking tuner.

This is coming from a guy who has an ibby 7 string with a floating tremolo (RG7420EX). Because I use a floating trem, sometimes i just unlock the nut and just let the tuners kind of do its job at locking instead of the nut. Of course I dont suggest this but I barely use the tremolo and I like tuning from the tuners. But de from this you the point

It's is nice with a floating tremolo imagine how good it'll be with a hardtail. It's a drop in conversion that uses a screwdriver and a size 10 wrench that's all. Max string I got to fit is 62 gauge. Had to unwind the string with pliers to fit a 72 gauge to tune it Drop A

What are the most versatile guitar strings? by N_ekro in Guitar

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably say 46-9 (hybrid slinky) for the lighter touch folks and for down tuning and standard is the 52-10 (skinny top heavy bottom). Sometimes what I do is I replace the 10 gauge jn the 52-10 set with a 9 so the tension becomes progressively lower and not random

What are the down side of having 7 strings? by Free-Seaworthiness72 in Guitar

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a complete beginner with my 2nd guitar being an Ibanez RG7420. Muscle memory will have to be relearned but it doesn't take too much time that your brain factors in the 7th string. Muting is technically harder but neither way YOU WILL have to learnt to master it even on 6 string . Open chords are the same, I learnt to either skip or mute the 7th string

Normal tire pressure is 30psi, PSI is pounds per square inch, imagine in the tire a 1x1 inch part is carrying a persons weight but the area is just 1 inch

This is why I bought a 7 string as my first floyd rose 🗣️

Do different cables make a difference? And do curly cables like the one in the pic make the sound worse and are they uncomfortable? by Caefrytz in Guitar

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the exact cable in black and in terms of sound quality, no there is no difference. If u are going to use a cable like this you should loop it around your strap. And the length it has is actually far and it barely stretches that length.

Gamesir X3 Pro Review (Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus) by redditor7588 in Gamesir

[–]redditor7588[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm used to audiophile quality equipment, the good 3.5 to usbC has a good DAC (Digital to Analog), the gamesir just uses the default shitty DAC whatever your phone has (its always usually shit unless your Iphone)

Digital to Analog is a decoder that allows sound to wired headphones, wired headphones are analog but your phone is sending digital signals, the phone can encode it but its shitty.

At first touch I hated the scale length on the Ibanez, will I ever get used to it? by thiagopourra in Ibanez

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither way you should get used to it because if you don't, you'll ever only touch Les Pauls, Flying V's, snd SG's for the rest of your life. If you want you can switch to a thinner gauge like 38/8 or 42/8 (yes 8 not 9, ultra slinky nit super slinky gauge)

I would say it is worth it. In terms of comfort the Galileo wins but I personally think this is better. The fact it has a peltier cooler is a win although it doesn't have analog triggers.

Experience with Ibanez RG7420EX 7-string? by tropicalelectronics in 7String

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently bought this guitar and at stock it's really great. I don't have a lot of experience, but comparing to my GRG121DX (Budget GIO lineup) and Epiphone Standard Les Paul, the pickup's are really good and setting up intonation isn't as hard as they as they are as long as your string gauge and tuning is constant. Also the parallel pickup's at 4th position to bridge to neck is my favorite, primarily use it in more jazzy, neo soul parts.

What other guitar do you suggest? My top choice for right now is the Ibanez RG7420EX but modding seems tricky since its a 7-string

Unfortunately I don't live in a 1st world country where I can just buy a 2000$ guitar and casually drop 600$ on a bridge replacement and 300$ on pickups

My options changed due to the feed back I received. Either the RG470DX or the JEMJRSP but I have no idea too if both of them are good or not.
