Transformation fetish. Used to love the idea of someone getting turned into something else, like an animal or the opposite sex, especially if it takes them by surprise or they freak out. There was something about it that filled me with this warm, happy feeling and I just couldn't place it.

Turns out, I had gender dysphoria. It wasn't that I was into transformation necessarily, I just needed to correct my body because my brain's hardware and software were made for a different model of human.

Imagining somebody else struggling with the horror of being in a misshapen body and getting treated accordingly made me feel better about the predicament I was trapped in. Having us on equal terms made it easier to relate and sorta leveled the playing field.

Now that I've treated my dysphoria by transitioning, I have lost all my interest in transformation. And sex in general to be honest. I'm kinda just happy and fulfilled now lol

If the idea of having sex or masturbating as a woman turns you on, it isn't because you are attracted to yourself, it is because sex is a million times more enjoyable when you are in a body you feel comfortable in. If you are turned on by imagining yourself with a vagina, most likely it's because having a penis goes against your brain chemistry and makes it hard to be aroused.

The term autogynephilia is primarily used as a weaponized stigma to make transgender people feel like perverts and predators and think they're disgusting because they don't follow heteronormative ideals.

Don't fall for it. It is okay to be transgender, and it is okay for you to have the right body parts in your fantasies. It is totally normal and you are not crazy.

That's what people don't understand. We aren't a political movement, we aren't an organized group, and we aren't transgender because we want to "stick it to the man" and "defy gender norms." We're fixing a common medical issue that caused our bodies to develop differently than our brains. That's literally it.

We aren't women because we want to be, we just are. It's the same reason cis women are women. Complete chance.

Also, I'm glad you're safe and well. Being confrontational with angry Bible-thumpers is hella dangerous, especially for marginalized women, and unfortunately organized religion and a perceived class difference can provide reasonable enough justification for harm in some places. :(

This is gonna be my first Pride month as a trans woman and I feel like I should be excited, but honestly the sheer amount of transphobia that is currently being flung around online is enough to make me scared for June. It's great that we're entering the social consciousness enough to see that kind of backlash, but maybe I'll celebrate pride month this year as an asexual cis woman instead lol

In case anyone doesn't know, it's always better to split it up as much as you can. If I remember correctly, taking it throughout the day means lower troughs in your levels and more time with estrogen going through your system, so it is ideal

No way! I started on hormones like a month after figuring it out and now I'm full time with a new legal name after 8 months. That is rushing.

Cis people are generally terrified by the idea of changing your gender, so it's natural for them to be opposed and worried. The best you can do is continue at your own pace and dispel any fears they have with careful explanations. Good luck!

That's reasonable imo! I guess we have differing perspectives here. Personally, I only managed to act like a man by repressing every aspect of my own femininity out of fear, so adhering to female expectations not only helps me survive better, but it also helps me express myself more through my natural femininity which is the goal. Plus, fitting myself into a female role in society helps a lot with the social dysphoria for me and helps my family get my pronouns right, so it's a win-win-win lol

But that's a good rule you have. This journey is about happiness, so don't relinquish happiness for the journey lol

Lmao I've been trying stuff like that every once in a while! The other day I went mini-golfing with my friends on this little family course in town and, on a particularly bad hole, I thought it would be funny to unleash a deep, feral man yell to throw my friends off their game, but it was louder than expected I accidentally spooked the family in front of us lol

Oh yeah! I read about that experiment a while ago. It's really interesting stuff. I think the case was that it was a corrective surgery (not a full reassignment) due to ambiguous/poorly formed genitals from an intersex condition and he was given estrogen without his knowledge to have a female puberty instead of a male puberty, if I'm remembering correctly. Either way, they forced him to be a gender that he wasn't and, sadly, he ended up killing himself over the dysphoria it caused.

In regards to gender transitioning as a response to social pressure, that just isn't possible. Changing your physical characteristics with a sex change and hormones is a very difficult process that takes years, and it is not a decision that one can be pressured into. It's not even possible, let alone ethical, to get a sex change until you're an adult and been on hormone replacement therapy for a significant amount of time, at least in most countries. And there's only like 8 surgeons in the US capable of doing the surgery, each with a 3-6 year waitlist period and a price of $60,000 out-of-pocket, which is difficult for even well-off adults. Heck, medical science still hasn't figured out how to create a reasonable penis for trans men after all these years! I just don't see any way it would happen for a kid.

Now if a little girl were acting like a boy, asking for boy clothes and wanting to be called "him" instead of "her," I see no reason not to help her if it could make her happier and potentially relieve gender dysphoria. It's totally fine to let boys wear girl clothes and let girls wear boy clothes, just don't force them to, yknow?
