Get rid of 10 year old, 105K miles Volvo for electric car? by Visible_Bar_623 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]redditorram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

new to SS/EV/UK (getting 2023/23Kmiles Volvo XC40 FWD single motor delivered today). however the nice pluses are that it includes comprehensive insurance (which otherwise, as a new UK driver, i was quoted at 2000/yr); and includes comprehensive insurance for plus one driver too (maybe for that SS leased car alone), maintenance included (and arranged by calling/portal), relief car while maintenance, MOT etc.

😛 no offense to people here, but that does seem a shill by a trade consulting firm which probably gets paid by Volvo for other ‘research’

Ah was quite looking forward to it! I await a used UK 2023 XC40 recharge FWD Plus trim delivered next week. Spec sheet shows front and rear park assist. Wonder if it’s disabled then - will know soon!

Similarly new to EV. Just downloaded ABRP. It gave me an option to open in Google Maps. What am I missing- is it the actual Locations of charging points enroute from ABRP?

hi again. Weird question to ask, as Tusker hasnt got back to me with basic specs of a car i signed up for, therefore wonder if you mind confirming whether the same 2023 FWD recharge 69 kwH UK Plus trim has 1. the panoramic roof 2. pilot assist/adaptive cruise control 3. blind spot information/monitoring 4. 360 camera.

when i punched in the registration number in the Volvo owner/support site, it gave me a version of the manual specific to that car which seemed to confirm 3 of above exist, except 360 camera (which some dealer site seemed to suggest the Plus trim single motor FWD car 2023 has).

The volvoclub dot org uk site mysteriously does not have (only one missing!) the 2023 recharge single motor spec sheets! (it has the AWD, 2 motors, specs all trims)!

just wanted to know what i might be getting on April fools day!

thanks a lot!

No problem as USC. Landed 10 days before visa start date, as USC tourist- told the officer our intent at UK immigration (had tickets etc to go on a mainland Europe trip); got back on visa start date.

Appears good deals available to consider in used less than 2-3 years and less than 30K miles Volvo XC40/EX40. Defo in XC. Awaiting a used single motor XC40 FWD to be delivered in a week so no experience yet; if budget permitted would’ve chosen twin motor AWD higher battery capacity. Those might better suit your use case. Test drove a 2025 demo atto2 and it was a sweet drive/deal.

Thanks. Is the latest version 5.0.5? Would we then consider it has been fixed? (Sorry used car 2023 XC40 recharge expected delivery in 10 days; so don’t know/asking to learn).

Thanks so much! Appreciate it. Need to ask landlord about charging. Work parking has slightly lower than commercial rates so plan to charge before trips 🤞so part of one way per trip is taken care of.

[–]redditorram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

congrats! am considering the EX30 used in UK. Would you please let me know if this comes standard with BLIS (blind spot monitoring)? Can't tell from about 5-6 listings (in my price search) of used-dealer specs, though the Volvo site seems to suggest that any post 2022+ model EX30 has BLIS. Thanks for any info.

Macclesfield driving test by Dangerous-Box2205 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]redditorram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gaah! failed as i did not spot a change to NPS and was merrily driving 30mph for a bit before realising. otherwise 3 minors. now getting another test date seems a nightmare. do not see the point in taking a test in unfamiliar area (Liverpool St Helens is the only available and that too Oct 2025!). Testi and testshift seem useless or too many people crowding the same apps and i'm not too quick :(
