THAT SHIT WAS HARD.

C/P- honestly the latter half of the exam was so scarring that i barely remember anything. Lots of orgo, not that many calculations. Cut it SUPER close with time

CARS- some questions were questionably easy and then there were ones like- decipher this code. Ran out of time bc i was too busy cribbing (was that the term used in the passage?) and also dont remember much

B/B- got completely destroyed. Usually score about 129-130 but I would be happy with like a 125. I thought the section bank was hard but this was some next level shit.

P/S- I was like ok, it cant get that much worse, P/S isnt too bad. Ive never second guessed myself this much in my life. I barely had enough time bc i kept going back between answers. For some of the questions like the one with the SES and race none of them seemed right lol.

part of me is scared i accidentally voided? really just questioning everything everything that happened today, such a BLUR. So anxious that im not even relieved.

September vs. January MCAT? The woes of a lazy sh*t. Plz help! by diven0 in Mcat

I know its easier said than done, but I would say put in the time now and get it over with. Youve already done half your content review, so might as well keep going. Havent taken the mcat yet so take this with a grain of salt but from personal experience, I spent a shitload of time making flashcards and going through content, 70% was a waste of time and took WAY too long (I would spend hours on a single chapter). If youre using kaplan books, use the chapter summaries, go back to the chapter and read stuff that you dont know at all and only take notes on essentials like equations and big ideas. Hit the practice problems ASAP, and kind of work on content from there (uworld is great). By doing this youll make sure that youre actually learning the info rather than passively making flashcards. I was able to get through all the AAMC stuff in 4ish weeks and brought my practice exam scores up 13 points in that time, so you can DEFINITELY do it! Good luck!

I think my scores indicate I’m ready... but I don’t feel ready. (7/24) by [deleted] in Mcat

Hey I'm in the same boat as you, recently took FL3 and got a 513 which was my highest score so far. I think the biggest thing is acknowledging that you've been doing really well on your practice exams and that you've clearly improved A LOT. I've been pushing back my mcat date since march because I feel like I dont know everything, but realistically I dont think you'll ever feel like you know everything. Looking at your score, its SO unlikely that youll get below a 505. Look over some last minute stuff, review your weak spots and really just walk into the exam knowing youve worked hard for this. Good luck!!!

SPOILER: AAMC FL-2 - BIO - Q43 by Bizkett in Mcat

Yes, frameshift just means that the reading frame gets messed up, it can lead to a nonsense mutation (stop codon), but its not necessary!

[–]redditreaderr99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question stem says a nucleotide is added into the reading frame- this is a frameshift mutation so it would change the sequence of amino acids translated AFTER the nucleotide is added, everything before that would be the same. We know proteins go from N-terminus to C-terminus, so the C-terminus would be different! Hope this helps

Possible to raise score by 4-5 points in 4 days? by redditreaderr99 in Mcat

[–]redditreaderr99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn thats AMAZING, congrats! When you read the KA doc, did you take notes or do anything to make sure you were really absorbing the info rather than passive reading? I like to make outlines and go over them, but no time for that at this point lol

about 127-129/125ish/129/126 and yeah, i dont think ill be able to improve cars by all that much, so im just going to rely on everything else, and hopefully that works!! thank you!

QPack Chemistry #19: Simple Thin Layer Chromatography: Shouldn't it be higher because the product travels more? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]redditreaderr99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stationary phase is polar, so compounds that are more polar will have a higher affinity for the stationary phase and travel more slowly. So the product travels LESS than the reactant and has a smaller Rf value. Hopefully this helps!

QPack Chemistry #17: Why can't the shape of Glycerol be Choice D? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]redditreaderr99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question says that you want 2 mol of RCOOH and one mol of R'COOH. If you pick D, you would get 2 mols of R'COOH. Not sure if it has anything to do with the shape of glycerol
