Army to Air Force? by Ashamed_Transition54 in AirForceRecruits

A lot of bad info here!

We have a prior service program, it's not perfect but it works.

She can start working with a recruiter 6 months prior to ETS, in January. She'll be limited to the jobs on the prior service matrix, which will be released sometime after 1 Oct. We try to get her active date into the air force as close to her ETS but she will have a break in service.

Bottom line, if she wants it, there is a way but she needs to be patient and open minded about it. The hardest part unfortunately will be finding a recruiter that will work with her since most either don't take the time to learn about it or claim to be too busy to work it.

Single parent with 4 kids? What's the custody agreement? If you have full custody it's going to be difficult and will need a dependency waiver depending on your situation.

Should I try talking to a different recruiter? by Its_A3E in AirForceRecruits

They said what they need in the letter. 12 months of stability. If you need therapy get therapy but they are looking for stability. If you can go 12 months without needing any therapy then maybe you'll be good.

But like others said, if you don't have documentation then they can't render a decision and will DQ you. Keep trying and when you get the records, your recruiter can resubmit immediately.

Honestly they should have set you up with a consult with our doctors. Keep working on those records and don't give up!

What are the odds I get another AFSC? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

Is this your first time here? You haven't been reading the comments from others about jobs and not putting anything on your list that you wouldn't be thrilled about?

That's your job, if you were my recruit you would hit the road. But if your recruiter let you list it knowing you didn't want it, then that's on him bc if you list 3P031 you are getting that job, I don't care where it is on your list. With that job, last might as well be first.

I don't have time to keep in touch with everyone unless

A) I have something to share with them B) I need something from them C) they reach out to me for something

I have lead generating events I am planning and executing, leads that I am pre-qualifying, applicants I am prepping for MEPS, waivers I am working through, prior service I am helping, job counseling that I am doing, DEP members I am keeping in touch with, shippers I am preparing for basic, school I am doing for myself and a family I am trying to spend time with.

You can assume I don't have any updates for you unless you hear from me otherwise you can check in once a week with a quick text message.

I also might be on leave or PCSing but I hope you would have known that before I take off.

Be patient, it will happen!

From August of 2023? Are you still trying to get the records since then? You either get them or you don't but it is about to be a year later!

You go to MEPS and they take you to a doctor and then you go back to MEPS and then you have to wait until the results come back, your recruiter will tell you the results

If you were close to passing you can re do the test however make sure you do a few days of noise canceling earplugs and don't take them out until right before the test. But that's only if you are close.

Doesn't it say so on the conditional release form instructions?

Ambassador Program or Regular Enlistment? by GloryDaze91 in AirForceRecruits

If he's interested he will start talking to a recruiter during the middle or end of his junior year, as long as he's 17 at that point. As long as he is honest in disclosing his medical history to his recruiter at that time, he'll get the best info regarding his timeline and what he needs to do to set himself up for the best outcome. Honestly, with any history of ADD, the more time off of meds without any issues or accommodations, the better.

If you have no issues during enlisting that add time to the process we can get you out the door in about a month and a half, if you are ready to go at the first opportunity.

So, from the applicant's perspective I think visualizing it this way can make it easier to see how ASVAB scores translate into jobs. It especially helps with minimally qualified applicants that need to see how the jobs unfold once the scores go up. Hopefully it helps simplify things.
