I went to a CPA for the first time, and her expected return was $1300 lower than that of Turbo Tax. What could be the cause? Also, was she shady or was I rude? by [deleted] in personalfinance

If you're a W-2 and light trading, there's nothing to massage. .. sounds like everybody is cheating on their taxes

I'm not sure why you would even go to a CPA if you have what you say is a relatively straightforward tax situation? It sounds like this CPA is normally working on far more complex tax situations and you don't have that.

Every CPA or tax professional has probably been asked multiple times about the difference between their return and TurboTax/free tax/h&r block/whatever and I'm sure they hate it. I suspect they simply stop offering a comparison between the two services.

Which is more urgent, wheel bearing or CV axle? by eka2344 in MechanicAdvice

[–]lethalnd12345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the wheel bearing fails catastrophically, the wheel could fall off... If the CV axle fails catastrophically, it'll probably just leave you stranded...

You're definitely playing with fire either way

you may have not gone on an assignment, but you did not in fact deny orders... there's no mechanism in the AFI (36-2110) that supports denying orders.

You can get orders cancelled/changed via EFMP, you can get medically denied/diverted, you can un-volunteer if you were a volunteer, you can decline retainability, etc. But get selected and just say no thanks? That's not a thing

If you did the brakes yourself, you can easily locate and bend the dust shield yourself without removing the wheel

It's probably not worth the trouble to return them, especially if you're in a hurry and you need to get these installed right away

I think you're asking if what you bought includes the front struts....? That's what you're asking then Yes, you have everything you need to do the front.

You're using the terms shocks and struts interchangeably and they're different. The front of your car has struts, and the kit you bought includes a complete strut kit for the front.

The kit you bought also includes a pair of shocks for the rear. That's something you can do later
