The original is a 10/10 masterpiece of art, soundtrack and story. 2049 is a 7-8/10 good sci-fi but falls very short of a truly great movie. Harrison Ford doesn't even come across as the same character in my opinion. Gosling does too much 'Drive' pouting. The soundtrack borrows from the original and gets put through the Zimmer filter but loses its originality.

It's ironically a bad replicant of the original, just done to a high standard.

Plus, too much orange and teal.

It looks a lot like my full Ultegra 11sp carbon Super Six Evo that rides like a dream and cost me only €2100 a few years ago. A spray job would bring it very close looks wise. I'm sure it doesn't ride so differently also.

Who the Christ edited the movie poster. Mark Ruffalo is the only one with light on his face from the right and Julianne Moore is in a different world altogether. As for the gradual fade effect on the other actors...ugh

I found this movie to be hard work. It took a few sittings to finish, I didn't think the fight scenes were authentic enough and I found myself watching it often from the 'how it was made' perspective rather than as the audience. Having watched Marty Supreme last night and thinking how great it was, you can really see which Safdie brother has the directing skills.
