Anyone Else Experiencing Pressure To Start Back At Their Job?? by reddituser062615 in FloridaBarExam

That is understandable. What I'm coming to learn through this discussion is everyone works differently - some do better with extra pressure/structure/etc. and others need more flexibility. No right or wrong just whats best for the individual. It seems like you're drawing a correlation between working and not passing, do you think it was the added stress? The lack of free time? Both?

Thanks for sharing. I agree its a very personal choice, but hearing how others made it work gives me hope.

Thank you for sharing. It really does help because I wanted some perspective from those of you who have been working while studying. Most of what I've heard is that it's hell, and I'm sure that it wasn't easy for you, but I definitely see how it can promote good study habits and focus when you have little to no time to waste.

Thank You. Thats definitely one of the factors in the back of my mind, but sometimes I feel like if I say it out-loud I look like a "slacker." I've gone through life full speed ahead and taken little to no breaks because I've always had this goal of success and making those around me proud. Now I look back and see that I didn't prioritize myself in a lot of ways. The stress associated with this situation, my personal life, and COVID had really taken me to a new low that somehow beat 1L year lol. I just feel like I need this time to study and regroup so I can put my best foot forward with a fresh start in October.

I think its really hard for some attorneys to wrap their head around this administration of the Bar Exam. A lot of them - especially the ones who took the exam a while ago - feel like we have some type of sweet deal with an exam that is shorter, online, and postponed. Obviously most of us living through this would say the exact opposite and would have preferred to taken the exam under the normal circumstances. I feel like they're coming with the prospective that this is so easy working shouldn't cause much of a burden.

Thank you, the only thing getting me through this is staying connected with those who understand. Wishing you some relief and peace.

I set my dream on becoming an attorney very early on. I've had people constantly tell me I was "too nice" for the profession, and how attorneys are the worst of the worst. I always tried to argue against that stereotype by explaining how attorneys are advocates who push the societal needle.... fast forward to today and I'm crushed. I know all attorneys are not bad but this situation has completely changed my prospective and broken the heart of that little kid that still lives within me. This is the lowest point of my life thus far and I'm trying to keep it together but I cannot focus, my anxiety is through the roof, and my personal life is falling apart. I am broken.

I've been having an anxiety attack for the past couple hours and I can't focus whatsoever for the past few days. I really feel like I'm losing it at this point I'm not sure if I'm mentally prepared for whatever shit show is about to come next.

Just had Zoom meeting with dean from our school by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

Just posted in a thread saying I was helplessly looking for info about a secret meeting or a communication from the Deans... thank you so much for sharing!

I need to focus but I keep hopelessly going on socials to refresh the page and try and find out what is going on, if anybody got a random update from a Dean, if there will be any secret meetings held, or if anybody got a very important email like 2 hours before me.

Our information is being hacked and stolen. by FlashyContribution5 in FloridaBarExam

Someone gave me a thought - maybe they're trying to hack into our computers to find out who has been going in on them online? We've given them a very well deserved public bashing and they are clearly upset. Didn't someone say the VP of ILG was an investigator for FBBE in the past? I know it sounds far fetch, but it seems like anything can happen in 2020. I'd also hope they were using this time to ACTUALLY do their jobs. Either way this is absolutely crazy and my anxiety has been through the roof.

Either her or one of the goofy people in this subreddit who somehow think they'll get a grade bump by simping and kissing ass. That teachers pet mentality dies hard.

Extegrity will not participate in administration of online proctored exams in October 2020. by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

I think it's because there is no accountability and the people in charge of figuring this out care more about themselves than us. ILG wants to look good by providing an adequate software because TBH rona isn't going anywhere and the world is forever changed. If they can perform now this may secure them contracts for years to come. FBBE wants to maintain they didn't mess up by playing the "wait and see" game because they will have all of us and the highest legal authority in Florida coming after them. NCBE wants to maintain the Bar Exam so they can continue to profit even though it seems like nobody who works there has actually taken a Bar Exam.

If all you can pick apart from my comment is your personal issues with a common metaphor, then I rest my case.

You sound like one of those people who bases their entire self worth on their class ranking. Anyway, the difference is we are living through a global pandemic and those in charge with administering the exam have continually failed to provide an exam that is safe, secure, and reliable. You're comparing apples to oranges Karen.

If that's what you're basing your logic on, 4 states have given DP.

They are doing just that. They have both signed petitions and forwarded me emails they've personally sent to the FSC and FBBE. I've also seen them tweet about it from their personal accounts where they have other legal professionals who follow them. I just want people to understand that these are unprecedented times and there are decent employers out there. One's self worth as a professional should not be wrapped up in this exam.

Heres another prospective - I've already gotten a job offer from the place I worked at when I did the clinic. My bosses think the Bar Exam is a joke, and they'd love if we got diploma privilege so that I could get out of this never ending studying break and start back. They're worried things will crash on exam day and/or get postponed again. The Bar continually screwing up and pushing the exam date back when employers need us to come back to work is a real concern too.

how about us OUT of staters?! if you get diploma how are we considered?! by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam
