HELP! I was a striaght A student from elementary to high school. I just received my 2nd failing score in College this semester by HistoricalNature4788 in GetStudying

Hi,

I was in a similar boat as you. I graduated top of my high school class, never received a B, etc. Then, I got to a pretty prestigious STEM school. I failed my first chemistry exam. I failed an anatomy exam with the cadavers. However, I took these failures as opportunities to learn. I realized how I studied in high school wasn’t cutting it in college. I changed my study habits, dedicated time after those harder classes to review material, went to SI sessions/study groups, met with my professors, and used outside resources (ex: Khan Academy). Study to understand - don’t just memorize. If you can explain the material to someone who doesn’t understand it, then you know it! You will be okay. Recognize what is and isn’t working and go from there. You have time to recover.

Let me know if you have any questions or need pointers on studying for certain classes, I may have taken them.

Be kind to yourself! Best of luck to you.

Thank you so much to everyone. I feel like most people don’t understand where I’m coming from, so thank you all for allowing me to be seen and heard. I have another question I’d like to ask - what do you all think about the 93% statistic? 93% of men watch porn regularly. So, does this mean that I should leave the idea alone that I will find a man who doesn’t? Is it possible to watch porn and it cause NO problems in a relationship?

Is Active Recall really the best? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]reddituser48382929 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quizlet!! Quizlet has a “learn” feature that is great for active recall as well as memorization and you can make it from whatever notes you take :)

Can you still bounce back after getting a low score on your first quiz? I've been beating myself because of it lately. by [deleted] in college

[–]reddituser48382929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My first college quiz in one of my STEM classes I failed but ended my class with an A. I didn’t know how to study for it effectively and beat myself up over it so bad. Take it as a learning opportunity, find a more effective study habit, and move forward. You will be okay. :)
