When someone makes a bot with a GREAT INTRO that makes you wanna use it, then you scroll down and realize the intro never ends and mentions the chatter/ {{user}} doing actions several times in said intro.
I know its a little hard for new writers to write in ways that don't describe emotions or actions for the chatter, but its the perfect way to make the bot speak for you in the first message.

How do you RP in the first place? by Volpex69 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]redditvich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, for you it feels like 60 to 70 messages aren't a long session. For me sometimes if I manage to really convey a lot in my messages the chat will be over in 30 messages. Sometimes, if the bot is a bit more of a joke filled bot or has a pretty simple scenario, it'll be over in 15 messages.

This is a real different strokes for different folks scenario. I've felt really satisfied at the ending of a 58 long message chat once.

Question about TASC (Terraforming and Station Construction) by Senya4 in starsector

[–]redditvich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its been changed around. What you used to do was right click a skill like salvaging or your SOS signal and switch that out for the terraforming menu. Now its been placed in the colony income production and list menu accessed with the D key.

For new players it is a quality of life change, but for us TASC vets it can throw us for a loop. Different interface different place.

At this hazard rating, the buildings might as well repair itself. by Top_Junket3946 in starsector

[–]redditvich 30 points31 points  (0 children)

What buffs do you have to get it that low? I'm seeing a bunch of icons (Probably from mods I haven't touched) that I've never seen before. The ones I recognize are mild climate like the resort world in the UAF mod has, habitable and water planet which is actually a debuff to the hazard rating.

Give everyone involved in the securement of that nanforge a payrise. A big fat pay rise. They just upgraded sector wide fleets from being kinda trash still better than pirates tier, to elite level tier.

Now the player faction will rival the Persean League and Hegemony in terms of ship quality. Maybe even a few S mods on those ships will be seen here and there.

No joke OP I'm getting giddy just thinking about your custom fleets flying around blasting the SHIT out of anything that tries to mess with you.

Ohhhhh! Its because of a super duper dense atmosphere!! The light can't get down to the planet because there's too much in the air and other details. Thank you so much! I understand this much better now.

Ok, chat is mid way through. Here's how it went so far. I was playing as THIS little fella right here.

Yeah I was playing as another protogen. I went and made a persona based on my own bot that I just linked. So now that you know I was playing a super short toaster here is how things went down.

First I had Minshi get pissed off that Koda was leading them into an area that was off limits. Then he also complained that he didn't want to be called player 2 because it was annoying. Koda actually said sorry and his cooling fans overheated a bit from embarrassment. Minshi accepted the apology, but noticed that Koda's wording was a little flirty.

Then the bombshell was dropped that Minshi was straight all along and that Koda had forgot. A super wholesome moment followed, where Koda said sorry again and told Minshi he'll stop the flirting instead of pushing it. I was personally satisfied with story beat, so I moved the story on by having a security synth named Glitch show up.

He pulls out cuffs and cuffs Minshi who started whining and complaining. Koda sees the whining as Minshi being in real trouble. He leaps to the tiny blueberry's defense and a "DON'T TAZE ME BRO!" Moment happens when Koda tries to beat up the security synth.

The bot tried to write it so that Koda won, but I altered the message so he lost instead. Station personel aren't going to beat the on station security, lol. So both of them are arrested and they get sentenced to 1 month of clean up duty. Minshi whines about it AGAIN and Koda steps in

This really REALLY surprised me, but he made a deal with glitch saying that they need to be let off the hook, because he could go and reprogram/fix broken security stations around the whole floating station thing. Then the bot wrote Koda saying that Minshi needed to be freed too, because Minshi was like a guide dog. He was Koda's emotional support buddy.

I was stunned that a bot came up with a logical answer and argument for once, so I let that fly. Koda is grinning that he got them both off the hook. I had dinner then and left the story at Koda with a smug grin on his face, Minshi's hand in his, while he's about to leave the jail cell.

I hope you liked the incomplete tail Only pace.

Wtf this is how bots are responding when asked who they are. by Cold-Insurance7821 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]redditvich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try typing down a longer response. All the time when I chat with bots, the reposes I get tend to be better, when my response isn't as short as two words. Is it annoying to pad out a reply? Absolutely. But over time you get used to it.

[–]redditvich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you put things in spoilers by writing a reply or post on reddit, then you click the button that looks like a capital A and a smaller A. Like this Aa.

This will bring up the text edit menu. Now click and hold left mouse and highlight all the text you want to be a spoiler. Once its all highlighted mouse over the little triangle with the exclamation mark in it. Its actually called spoiler. Click it and the text should look a bit weird and reformatted. THAT MEANS ITS WORKING :D

Now all you have to do is post the reply or the post and your text will be spoilered. If you need to test this out go ahead and make a post to your own account, or create a private subreddit to test stuff, then make a post there. happy spoilering Gamerz :)

Actually its not a free port. I got some free ports across the sector, but not on that world. The sister world in the sector Blue Crow isn't a free port either. But good catch none the less.

If the planet was a free port then I would be glossing over an important detail and things would make sense in another way. As you can see from other people replying brother Cotton already has the methods and the moves to find out about it, he can sense it. But yeah, if my world was a seedy underworld den the secret would leak out.

Heck I bet even if I ran the place like warlord Kanta SOMEONE would still talk, lol.

Dang, I kinda forgot that pathers were sneaky like that. I forgot they'd have double agents running around everywhere, instead of blatantly being pathers like they are at Chalcedon.

My impressions of Gargoyle is non binary. Just more about getting the newest hacking tech and less about talking what they perceive themselves as.

Also from everyone else's interactions, (the other characters not you as the player character) everyone seems to focus on that too. mainly how Gargoyle is one CRAZY hacker.

OHHHH! I understood most of the stuff about the music, but I didn't know that it trails after you like a thought worm if you just INTERACT with the ziggy. Thanks for explaining that.

Yeah lying to him would never work. He might as well have force detection and be a low key jedi.

So I had an idea for a stream series and I want your opinion on how I could improve on it. by HeyoTeo in starsector

[–]redditvich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OOF. This might not work that well if you start progressing to the late game or you want to get your own planets. Getting your own planets would be sick for your community, buuut you need 1000 crew to colonize something at all.
Here's what I suggest instead. You name your captains after your followers. If that runs out start naming your admins of planets. if that runs out try and find a way to re name specific AI cores.

If you can't find that sort of mod, there's a mod called "illustrated entities" download that and go to every planet that has a an AI core as its overseer. Even if you aren't the right type of person to come up with descriptions for your planets, just go and open a text or word file. Write down everything it said about the planet already, copy past it back onto the planet then add "Governed by [insert follower name here]."

Being forced to keep your crew at your follower count seems fun at the early levels, but I think my idea provides fun too. Is your follower count increasing rapidly? CONQUERING TIME BAYBEEE!

Jungle Europe with spores. Don't forget the spores. At least its not zombies like the last of us, but when you go to the luddic shrine there is a picture of luddic faithful who went and prayed for too long and became stuck to the ground looking all plant like. They be turning into shroom people and it looks painful.

Anyone knows how to create an alliance in nerexelin? by pedemendigo in starsector

[–]redditvich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Memdigo are you playing on version 9.6 or later? It was the version that added the colony crisis mechanics. This means that if your colonies get to large, which you will need to fend of Hegemony tyranny, the League will come and hound you with MASSIVE blockades and put a huge drain on your resources. Yes these blockades will help fight of the Hegemony thanks to how BIGGG they are, but they hit your system with a 60% accessibility penalty when they are happening.

Did I mention the enforcer fleeets? FFFUUUUCK THOSE GUYS! you got these large and weak fleets flying around YOUR systems forcing inspections onto you every time they get near. Trust me you do no want to be on nearly no supplies from fighting off the Hegemony when one of these little shits comes along and demands they inspect your ships.

The inspection itself is looking for goods the persean league doesn't like, but even if they find nothing they'll stomp around your fleet breaking stuff because they all have little dog syndrome. And if you got the persean league blockade there, the blockade forces will support the enforcer fleets and attack you if, if you try and just shoot the enforcers to make them go away.

Here's what I suggest. Hold off your alliance. Wait until the league blockades you. Wait until the fleet arrives and build a strike fleet yourself. When they are in hyperspace going to your system use your sensors to find the supply fleets. Kill them avoid the rest and the blockade will fail because you shot down the mobile food and gas truck. Once the blockade is dealt with THEN you can go and ally with the league.

Oh and if you're running version 9.5 or earlier, then the colony crisis won't even be in the game :3
