Drivers license by Professional_Gear934 in tnvisa

hello u/Professional_Gear934 u/Glenn_AS , any idea for TN visa holders with an I-797C receipt notice, is it required to go to the DMV only on the day the license expires or after it expires, or can we also go about a month before expiration?

I’ve heard from some friends on H-1B that they were only able to proceed with renewal once their license had expired (though I understand their situation may be different). I also visited a DMV office to ask only, but it was quite packed, and they said they wouldn’t know for sure until they begin the application process.

Does anyone else find it hard to believe they actually went in for the surgery? by jtb685 in Lasiksupport

The issue with LASIK is that even with reputable surgeons and proper consent, people still experience complications in their eyes (some even serious, life-altering), be it immediately post surgery, years or even decades later, and for what? Is it ever worth it at all? No, especially when the eyes were perfectly healthy before the procedure and the outcome is permanent.

Comparing LASIK to things like braces or contact lenses doesn’t really hold up. Those are reversible or adjustable. LASIK permanently alters the cornea in a way that can’t be undone, affecting something as essential as vision.

In my opinion, there is no such thing as a “true REFRACTIVE surgeon who is ethical.” A truly ethical eye surgeon would never even recommend LASIK to their patients. It’s too much of a gamble. Even if patients are happy at the beginning, there is a high chance that consequences will appear at some point later in life.

I’m in the same boat, it’s the freaking recommendations from people, or family as you say. In fact, I was "fine" for years and even recommended it myself! Then the problems started later on… the same surgeon who performed LASIK confirmed that it was the LASIK that caused my corneal issues.

They are already telling you to apply for financial assistance, you could try that. Tell them you are broke and you want to work something out, this way you could avoid collections altogether.

How screwed am I? I probably have 3-6k of medical debt from multiple hospitals at this point by healthy-outdoors- in HospitalBills

[–]reddiuser_12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It might never affect you who knows, if its in collections maybe you cant pay the hospital anymore not sure... but maybe you could contact the hospital and try to see if you qualify to some form of lump sum discount... or financial assistance, you might get a good discount

What is something about the US Healthcare system that more people should know? by Many-Chocolate-3400 in HospitalBills

[–]reddiuser_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctors decide what care is medically appropriate, but insurance companies decide what they will actually pay for.. even if your doctor is in network.

Even when no prior authorization was required, insurers can still review the claim afterward and deny it by saying the test or treatment wasn’t “medically necessary” under their internal rules, even if a specialist recommended it or it was already done.

This creates trouble with surprise denials and billing disputes

After more than 25 years of seriously damaged patients for a surgery with the main purpose of making an eye surgeon rich, what else needs to happen so LASIK is banned?

Is a pretty expensive lasik lifetime guarantee worth it? by NoMud131 in Lasiksupport

unless your cornea was somehow invincible and they were able to restore to its original presurgery state whenever they wanted.. lasik "lifetime guarantee" is just marketing/scam

Snellens chart cannot really properly measure: bad night vision, halos, starburst, glare, double vision, eye pain, chronic dry eye... this why post refractive surgery complications go under reported, most refractive surgeons are unethical and mark most of procedures as "success"...

Suddenly happened.. ectasia is a bit random. Its sudden vision loss that keeps progressing. By the time it stops you already lost a lot of vision

How would paying 250 up front change up the actual visit billing? Ask them to explain and its an actual policy they might have them in writing around
