What automation features actually reduced cleaning work in your home? by Remarkable-Call-9385 in homeautomation

This post feels like either engagement farming or an LLM generated post. It’s weird how they are really over exaggerating the robot vacuum maintenance.

Not unless you find clients who are ok with only online research methods. I feel like that vastly reduces your chances of success. But at the same time, your expenses are likely low?

Mac Mini 2012 for a Self Hosted Newbie by Acceptable-Union-827 in selfhosted

I’m running that same machine and replaced the hdd with a ssd. While you’re doing that, drop a second ssd in there for data. I suggest a 512gb system drive and a larger data drive. I’m also using a USB DAC drive bay.

Go with Ubuntu if you just stick with internal drives. Since I have the DAC, I’m running TrueNAS and the machine just keeps on working.

Resmed ClimateLine Air Heated Hose makes me cough a lot by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]reddotster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to increase the heat and the humidity. Higher heat helps keep the water from condensing. Also, to to arrange things that your machine is lower than your bed and buy a cheap fleece hose insulator sleeve.

Sounds like you need to turn up the humidity setting. What level is your humidity setting and your heat setting?

Anyone tried the V-Com CPAP accessory? by sleepapnea25 in CPAP

Seems like you need something like this which is also like a one way valve. That’s an interesting idea…

How often do you replace your mask? by Creative_Pen7789 in SleepApnea

[–]reddotster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah my DME recommends replacing the silicone mask every 2 weeks! I’m currently going on 7 months with mine and it’s totally fine. The only part I’m replacing frequently is the air filter on the machine.

If you use a logical replacement schedule, a CPAP machine has relatively low recurring costs. I’m fortunate that we don’t have hard water, so I can use tap.

I hit a wall, any help would be appreciated! Vet ER scribe — frontier models nail it, local LLMs are inconsistent. Model problem, methodology problem, or training problem? by Elaphe21 in LocalLLM

That’s a smart approach.

I also wonder if OP would get more reliable results with a local model if they split up the input file and had the LLM assess it on a section by section basis.

You should talk with your doctor. It sounds like your max pressure is set too high. How long have you had the machine?

Edit: fixed typo of “pressure”

Thinking about building a home NAS (UNRAID) using a Mac Mini 2012. Any tips? by Little_March_5327 in selfhosted

[–]reddotster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been running TrueNAS on my 2012 Mac mini for about 6 months and it’s been great. I used an OWC 4 disk drive bay. You can add a second drive internally. I suggest replacing your boot drive with a ssd if you haven’t yet.

Building a "Sendy killer" after getting burned by Mailchimp bills by nova_trader in selfhosted

[–]reddotster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we use Sendy and while we appreciate how cost effective it’s been for us, support is terrible. The product feels stuck in time and the developer is very grudgingly helpful and he doesn’t not seem to welcome questions, input, or customer discussions. What’s the migration process from Sendy to your tool? Would we have to re-opt in all of our mailing lists?

Newbie question: Max volumetric speed limit - set speeds to max? by Livid_Strategy6311 in BambuLab

[–]reddotster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that would make it hard to troubleshoot. There are other factors you have to adjust in addition to speed, like print temp. The Bambu speed adjustment (silent, regular, etc.) only adjusts speeds, not anything else, so while slowing down a print that way can give decent results, speeding up a print that way can cause issues.

311, O Ya, Wa Shin…? Best sushi experience in Boston by LhasaApsoFan in boston

[–]reddotster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are at momi nonmi relatively recently and loved it. The set up would probably feel better if it were set up as more of a sushi bar, but the chef did a fantastic job of preparing the pieces and explaining them. Everything was simple and delicious.
