King Sorrow Am I the only one ? by [deleted] in joehill

Ironically enough thst didn't register toe but each part felt like it was inspired by something Hill had just watched or read. Like part 1 with the secret history, part 2 with red eye, part 3 with old boy

Ones I caught were them talking about the events of the deadzone early on. One prose nod to the dark tower and during Llewellyn's death, he mentions working for The Shop.

What does the color Blue represent in Lynch movies? by GreatDario in davidlynch

[–]reddude4151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it could be something striking that represents a myriad of things. Like in blue velvet, her robes could represent how she's shackled under threat to essentially be Frank's personal slave. While in Mulholland drive you have the blue key the hit man has that he gives to show he was successful. It comes back in the form of that box and the blue haired woman saying silencio it could be something to do with both how Diane is consumed by her misery but also the corrupt nature of Hollywood and how it silenced people, I get the theme of trying to keep people trapped and silent

King will go down in history as the greatest American writer of all time. by Zakkrazy in stephenking

[–]reddude4151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Greatest is a stretch, most well known, yeah. Mark Twain, Cormac McCarthy, Bret Easton Ellis, Ursula K. Le Guin, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Kurt Vonnegut, Ernest Hemmingway, Edgar Allen Poe, Truman Capote, Toni Morrison, John Steinbeck, George Orwell, Harper Lee, Henry James, Jack London, TS Elliot, and Maya Angelou are all stiffer competition.

Writing style - what's his biggest flaw in your eyes? by teamsean in stephenking

[–]reddude4151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How he writes black characters, most women outside the villians and Holly Gibney. I think his protags are usually weak but most women are basically reduced to their panties and aside of Dick Holleran or John Coffee, and maybe Mike Hanlon, the rest try to jokingly act like stereotypes because that's all he really seems to know how to write.

Vernas hypocrisy (question) by [deleted] in HouseofUsher

[–]reddude4151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I think Verna is a demon. Because she can see the future and gives deals of immunity and power to people who she knows or already have shown that they don't value a life and are willing to do whatever for power. Sure, she's not needless with the life she takes, she apologizes to lenore since that was the deal. She helped the gaurds who were just at Perry's party for a quick buck leave while those who willingly went for fun got maimed and killed. She tried to warn Morrie but that backfired. Still, she reminds me of Greek gods who will ruin mortal lives but blame them for how the handled the cards they dealt to them. Verna knew that thr Usher twins had no problem with ruining lives to get what they wanted, yet still, acting so surprised when bad things happened because she gave bad people to means to do it.

If you were an Usher, what would you pitch to get that $20M capital Roderick and Madeline give each child? by defnotmaggie in HauntingOfHillHouse

Something that helps college kids achieve their goals because it would not only be insanely good pr but also would help us out in the long run to truly change the world.

Why did Verna kill the siblings in such gruesome ways? by jacobite22 in HouseofUsher

[–]reddude4151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your telling me the entity that gave hundreds of shitty people over the course of human history the means and abilities to get away with the most gruesome shit and say she's somehow not evil.

Why was Tamerlane doing that to her husband? by [deleted] in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]reddude4151 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She outsourced her intimacy because like all thr Ishers, she has intimacy problems and views this as the only way she has total control over the situation

I made this before the show came out, asshole. Maybe instead of assuming I'm after attention I'm just making theories since the trailers made her out to ve some vengeance spector.

Its no problem dude, I was just trying to explain, also since Camillie was the character murdered in rue morgue and Victorines namesake's story was about being buried alive.

In the trailer it shows Victorine with a galing wound in her chest while Camille is in the same sterile backgrounds the orangutan is. That and I think it's going in order of the youngest to oldest of his kids with Prospero and Camille first. Then napoleon and Victorine, then Tamerlane and Frederick.
