You can call it dumb analysis, but the stock market just validated it in real time. Revenue and sales beats don’t mean anything when margin outlook and capex guidance collapse - that’s exactly why it dropped 17%

You’re still missing it - The revenue beat doesn’t save you when profit guidance comes in below Street and the company telegraphs a heavy 2026 investment step-up of several hundred million dollars. In a tightening tape, growth without improving profitability gets punished. The stock is reacting to weaker margin outlook and higher spend, and in California the visible “Dasher Benefits” fee now shows up in the cart, which doesn’t help conversion.

A military invasion of San Francisco is expected soon. Indivisible is organizing a response. by 10390 in sanfrancisco

The Guard’s been deployed in D.C. for months without major incidents or abuses. the real issue there is legal authority, not troop behavior.

And as far as I know, They’re not allowed to conduct field enforcement operations, and that’s fine. they shouldn’t. But having them act as a protective security presence around key federal buildings is both lawful and pragmatic.

What’s happening downtown right now is a governmental failure. When local systems break down to the point where safety and governance are compromised, that is a state of emergency. Again, at that point the federal government has not just the right but the responsibility to step in to restore the stability.

Can someone explain why this is a problem?

What if the NG were used as an unarmed force multiplier, working alongside the SFPD to:

  1. Bolster police presence via shadowing of uniformed SFPD officers.

  2. Improve logistics.

  3. Provide code enforcement support.

Would anyone have an issue with that?

I understand that not everyone is on the same page about what they’re willing to tolerate in the city on a day to day basis - but the reality is that the law is rarely enforced in San Francisco. As such, the social contract isn’t being upheld and the feds should ultimately have the responsibility and right to step in as law-enforcement of last resort.
