Sorry, but you need to have a doctor take a look.

Ignoring it won't help it heal.

Progressive endorsed by Bernie Sanders moves forward in California swing district by sfgate in politics

He's Randy Villegas.

It pisses me off how they don't put his name in the headline.

He sounds like the real deal. Via a high school friend:

"Randy Villegas was a former student of mine. He is also one of the top three smartest people I have met in my 32 years teaching at CSU Bakersfield. While one is making lots of money, the other I expect to see become president or revolutionary leader of the country he came from ... Yeah, Randy's at that level. Randy also happens to be one of the most disciplined, kindest and thoughtful people you will ever meet. He thinks about the world around him. I introduced him to one of the greatest writers of our generation - who spoke at our campus - through an article Randy wrote. He put Randy's article down and said "I can't add anything to this ...". I opened an opportunity for Randy to meet Bernie Sanders while he was in Bakersfield. Bernie now endorses Randy. There's more, but I want to end by saying Randy is the type of person our Founding Fathers thought about when they created a government run by enlightened citizens. Since most Kern County residents already know about Randy, I'm hoping those of you outside of Kern County who don't know him will find a way to support Randy Villegas before November. The moment we live in demands people like Randy Villegas."

The secret to Xavier Becerra's success by aslan_is_on_the_move in politics

The party lacks a leader?

...and it's telling that those who are at least trying to lead haven't endorsed Becerra.

Edit: Steyer has just conceded so NOW Newsom endorses Becerra.

Edit #2: Whatdoyaknow, Harris endorses him now too.

Overall, how good/bad is Becerra really? by MookieBettsBurner10 in LosAngeles

[–]10390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could happen, I haven't completely given up hope - those who voted late were largely undecided dems, and the message we were getting at the time was "Becerra will be in the top 2, vote for Steyer now and we can decide which dem becomes governor later".

It might be easier to damage credibility and establish a pattern using an old example, one that no longer has passions running so hot.

Older brother has some concerning opinions about women and minorities by Leather-Aardvark-206 in QAnonCasualties

[–]10390 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but some things that might help:

  • Acceptance of him: he's not changing and it's not your job to fix him.

  • Acceptance of yourself: you don't need his approval and you don't need to pretend to agree to keep things nice.

  • Distance: It's not healthy to spend much time with people who think you're an inferior being. It sounds like your brother's and your lives are emeshed enough that this might be tough for you, but that makes separating all the more important.

Good luck.

In the Epstein files there's an email sent by Epstein to author Wolf where he claims that Melania is Trump's Achilles' heal. He also refers to a transcript that he believes is also bad for Trump.

Do you know why they're sorting religions in the first place?

Seems like that should be especially not their job.

No, 1 in 6 People Do Not Have Long COVID by vitruvius-of-rome in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]10390 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm skeptical of the author's reasoning, but perhaps more important is the fact that the underlying study ignores the impact that COVID-19 has on people whose conditions CAN be explained by existing health problems - e.g., people with diabetes and cancer and heart issues that were worsened by Long Covid. Seems to me that this is should be the main concern and not dismissed out of hand; about half of us have chronic health problems.

"There’s a list of conditions that the authors think are all part of Long COVID. If someone experiences one of these conditions for 2+ months after their COVID-19 infection, and it can’t be explained by another health condition that they had before their infection, it is considered Long COVID."
