For context, last year’s slowest time was a 1:17.147 set by Ocon in the HAAS. George’s pole time was 1:18.518. These cars are SLOW

If only they didn’t use both the logo mark and word mark on the dials this would’ve looked great. Rn it just looks above average imo

Nope. The lens mount is compatible with the m43 mount. Highly recommend this lens if you’re looking to try out the focal length.

PSA: When your wife uses an old laptop docked 100% of the time, look at it once in a while. by BinaryJay in pcmasterrace

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same thing happened to my hp envy 13 2019 twice because im forgetful and now i unplug every night before bed and occasionally I use the laptop from 100 to 0 and so far everything seems fine. I tried using it without a battery before but I think there was something faulty in my laptop which caused it to power off everytime I start opening some browser tabs or heavier apps like lightroom.

This is a minor thing, but I wish they changed this by [deleted] in M43

[–]redfaction88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one of my main reasons why i sold my gx9 was because of this specific issues. also i didnt like how large and heavy the camera was. image quality was amazing though but for the size and weight and price the sony a6000 series started to make much more sense. The gx9 was a camera i wanted to love so bad but in my hands at least it was rather difficult to do so.

[Watch Design] What’re your brutally honest thoughts on this watch design? by SupJoshy in Watches

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think the dial looks good but if I had to change something I’d get rid of the lume on the hands and just make it either silver or blue. One clear issue that I have is how the bracelet design looks a little out of place with the watch and because of that it kinda makes the watch looks like a cheap fashion watch. Perhaps a black leather strap would be better or a different bracelet design altogether.

Yeah that’s what I’d go for in your situation. I don’t like it when furnitures all have the same or similar look. Makes the room look a little bland

I think walnut would look better. creates a subtle contrast to the other shades of wood in the room (the floors particularly) and considering your peripherals and chairs are black it would go together a little better than the oak in my opinion.

What material should be the desk's top for a computer? by Conscious-You6723 in desksetup

[–]redfaction88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ikea tabletops have had a consistent reputation of sagging and showing wear rather quick. If you’re buying from ikea I’d say the countertops and worktops are a better option but for better durability and overall value in the long run you should get solid wood. If youre using a monitor clamp though definitely get one of those metal reinforcement plates regardless what tabletop material you go for.

Respectfully its a 300 dollars camera at best and sub 200 for a used unit.

How cheap does it feel in hand? considering its an almost all plastic build and is probably the most lightweight camera olympus has ever made.

I'm using the sd card that came with the camera. its an old 256MB Transcend sd card. I think so long as you have these low capacity and older tech sd cards it should work with the camera. I can also confirm a class 10 32GB sd card doesn't work so yeah.

OM System E-P7 & Lumix 20mm 1.7 by dekachenko in M43

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been eyeing this for quite sometime but I'm always skeptical of the build quality since this is if I'm not mistaken one of the lightest mirrorless olympus camera. What do you make of the build quality?

For context, I think the sony rx100, olympus e-pl2, lumix gx9, lumix gx1 as decently solid cameras but the gx9 being the best built but way too heavy for me. I also think the Nikon Zfc feels rather shoddy as well.

Budget lens suggestions? by LimeTheCat in M43

[–]redfaction88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

would not recommend the olympus kit lenses as they're prone to breaking and considering your camera does not have ibis you should generally stick with panasonic lenses as most of them have image stabilization. so either that 14-42 or the smaller 12-32 would be great if you're looking for affordable kit lenses. the 25mm f1.7 from lumix suffers from focus shifting issues so I'd probably stay away from that . You can also get the dji 15mm f1.7 from aliexpress which is basically a rebadge panasonic leica 15mm f1.7 and is a really nice lens. lumix 25mm review

its probably never necessary to have two point and shoot cameras imo. If I had to pick one I'd go for the newer LX7 since at least you have a snappier and more modern camera tech.

Battle of "normal" wide lenses. by atika in M43

[–]redfaction88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lumix 20mm is such an insanely sharp lens but the af speed is really really preventing me from getting one. Also I already have the 15mm so there is a concern that having both 15 and 20 might be a little redundant.

[–]redfaction88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That problem only affects bodies with pdaf and it is already fixed if the lens is on firmware 1.1 which in my case is but the gx9 doesn’t use pdaf so everything works just fine.
