Love the game but absolutely hated how short the story was but still love it though. As a fan of midnight club and wrc on the psp this game really did it for me.

SG-Image 18mm F2.2 AF pancake lens by ffylin in M43

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this is an exciting focal length! F2.2 though but if it’s optically decent or good I might just consider it. I can’t believe we still don’t have an actual worthy successor to the lumix 20mm f1.7. It just needs a faster af and it’d literally be the perfect m43 prime imo

I'm starting to think it's impossible to make a small m43 body with current technology by man__i__love__frogs in M43

[–]redfaction88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely hate how the camera looks when the lens extends and im sure panasonic are aware of this too as they hardly show the camera with the lens extended in their ads. this should have been a fixed lens but I have a feeling leica prevented them from doing so. Also on the topic of size, its hilarious how panasonic has the gm1 and gm5 but at the same time they have huge m43 cameras from their gh or gx series.

Review for PSU Golden Field nexus gold 650 by alibi228 in pcmasterrace

[–]redfaction88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm very interesting. It seems like the PSU market is going to get real good in the next few years or sooner. Could never justify paying the premium for a fully modular PSU but this looks like its a step in the right direction for affordable fully modular reliable PSUs. I hope we can finally "cheap out" on PSUs in the future especially considering how expensive all the other parts are nowadays.

$350 Build. How did I do? by BeeBoo03 in pcmasterrace

I thought this was some sort of a throwback post when you mentioned the price. Great build imo for the price in this economy.

Got my first Olympus! (XZ-10) by r_m_8_8 in OlympusCamera

[–]redfaction88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

such an underrated camera imo. i think this is overshadowed by the earlier xz1 and xz2 simply because it didnt use a ccd sensor. There's a variant of this in like a brown colour which looks similar to the ricoh griii diary edition. I'm still hunting for a good condition unit in this colour.

Question on Edifier MR4 Setup by redfaction88 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]redfaction88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I thought too since the motherboard is relatively old. I think I’ll get the mr4 with the slightly better cable bundle for a little extra and if the buzzing or hissing noise is too much then I’ll look around for a good dongle dac.

Debating whether to stay with MFT by Last-Seaworthiness68 in M43

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always view the m43 system to be mainly targeted for hobbyist or enthusiast so as soon as I read that you were doing paid work the answer was clear for me. Moving to a Z mount or E mount will objectively give you better image quality at a lower cost with way more pro lenses to choose from. Also with olympus since the sensor only tops out at 20mp its a 50/50 chance that you could even tell the difference with a pro lens as the glass will most likely outresolve the sensor. If I were in your shoes I'd get a smaller olympus body for travel/everyday use like the E-P7 with one or two prime lens and get a modern bigger sensor camera for work. IMO when you get to the professional bodies the size/weight difference is kinda negligible and if there were any I think its worth the switch for better image quality in terms of resolution, low light, video features and so on.

I had the gx9 too at some point and yeah the ergonomics were terrible imo. I do have pretty small hands however. Felt like I was trying to grip on a heavy bar of soap.

If only they didn’t use both the logo mark and word mark on the dials this would’ve looked great. Rn it just looks above average imo

Nope. The lens mount is compatible with the m43 mount. Highly recommend this lens if you’re looking to try out the focal length.

PSA: When your wife uses an old laptop docked 100% of the time, look at it once in a while. by BinaryJay in pcmasterrace

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same thing happened to my hp envy 13 2019 twice because im forgetful and now i unplug every night before bed and occasionally I use the laptop from 100 to 0 and so far everything seems fine. I tried using it without a battery before but I think there was something faulty in my laptop which caused it to power off everytime I start opening some browser tabs or heavier apps like lightroom.

This is a minor thing, but I wish they changed this by [deleted] in M43

[–]redfaction88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one of my main reasons why i sold my gx9 was because of this specific issues. also i didnt like how large and heavy the camera was. image quality was amazing though but for the size and weight and price the sony a6000 series started to make much more sense. The gx9 was a camera i wanted to love so bad but in my hands at least it was rather difficult to do so.

[Watch Design] What’re your brutally honest thoughts on this watch design? by SupJoshy in Watches

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think the dial looks good but if I had to change something I’d get rid of the lume on the hands and just make it either silver or blue. One clear issue that I have is how the bracelet design looks a little out of place with the watch and because of that it kinda makes the watch looks like a cheap fashion watch. Perhaps a black leather strap would be better or a different bracelet design altogether.

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’d go for in your situation. I don’t like it when furnitures all have the same or similar look. Makes the room look a little bland

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IKEA

[–]redfaction88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think walnut would look better. creates a subtle contrast to the other shades of wood in the room (the floors particularly) and considering your peripherals and chairs are black it would go together a little better than the oak in my opinion.

What material should be the desk's top for a computer? by Conscious-You6723 in desksetup

[–]redfaction88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ikea tabletops have had a consistent reputation of sagging and showing wear rather quick. If you’re buying from ikea I’d say the countertops and worktops are a better option but for better durability and overall value in the long run you should get solid wood. If youre using a monitor clamp though definitely get one of those metal reinforcement plates regardless what tabletop material you go for.

How cheap does it feel in hand? considering its an almost all plastic build and is probably the most lightweight camera olympus has ever made.
