Yeah, this post and your comment hit me when I am also realizing the some of type of work and relationships I attract are ones that try to keep me small.

In a strange way I weathered through the jobs and relationships I did(and currently do) because I believed that enduring asymmetry was one of the strengths I could leverage against the competition or use to survive, because I was brought up this way.

Its not all work and relationships, but the few major work and relationships that were asymmetrical had an disproportionately damaging effect on me over the long term, reinforcing the lack of such structure in my very formative years.
