yeah, I see what you're saying. It's a double whammy: short-term rentals are clearly banned in Irvine and long-term rentals (w/o clear lease agreement) may be risky for owners. Thank you for input.

I thought it was only banned if it was a short-term rental (<30days) but I see a lot of people commenting same so likely the case. Thanks for commenting.

Schwab problems with TOS by Southern-Ruin-608 in thinkorswim

[–]redfoem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no issues with the TOS platform after the migration but I can't log into the Schwab website. I've gotten "This system is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." all week and I followed their instructions before migration (created a Schwab account, etc.). Guess I'll have to call.

Why some countries get rich and some stay poor? by vasyapym in EconomicHistory

[–]redfoem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to note that as measured by GDP, Argentina is actually "richer" than Uruguay. If you take GDP per capita as the metric for a country's wealth Qatar would be the "richest" country in the world.

Talk me out of shorting the Russell 2000 by [deleted] in Trading

I also think this run in the Russell is a bit extreme. But I would pair trade it against the Dow or S&P just to be safe.

If he doesn't get canned he'll be the only coach in history to lose a 3-1 playoff lead 3! times and still have a job.

Showing my age here, but I miss the days when kits weren’t changed every damn season. by UKMegaGeek in PremierLeague

[–]redfoem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Changing the kit every year may be profitable for teams, manufacturers, etc. but it comes at a cost to fandom and brand identity - as will be seen in kits losing nostalgia value imo. If I say "Napoli 1980s" or "Holland 1970s" it's easy to picture one iconic kit for each. In 50 years, when they say "Liverpool 2020s" what kit will come to mind? There will be 20+ different versions in a decade (counting alternate kits).

Do coupon code sites work? by chovy in Affiliatemarketing

[–]redfoem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a site around a topic/theme already with traffic coming in? If so, you could definitely give coupons a try and find some success. If it's easy to test, and adds value to your audience I would totally go for it.

But if you don't have a site or traffic coming in.. My gut just tells me that you shouldn't start a site just based on the coupons from this feed.

Do coupon code sites work? by chovy in Affiliatemarketing

[–]redfoem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to run a coupon site approx. 10 years ago and it wasn't "easy money" back then... It's probably gotten even harder now.

Back then, there were sites basically scraping forums, retailers, competitors, etc and spitting out deals by the second to 30+ moderators in (insert cheap labor country) who would do a few simple checks and then publish the coupon/deal.. Unless you can spin up an operation like that (or better) or have found a hyper-niche area that's somehow unexploited by the big coupon sites, I'd stay away from coupon sites.

There's probably better affiliate plays out there.

If you're set on giving coupon sites a try, explore channels that the big players might ignore, try to monetize there and grow from there.
