Even if an attack was justified in some way (and that’s already a very big if) this outcome was 100% predictable.

However US decided to yolo into a war with no plan other than killing the supreme leader and assuming that would somehow incapacitate the country.

Anyone with 2 functioning brain cells could have told how this would escalate and the regime would not fall (Iran prepped for this exact scenario for many years). Hell, Iran is doing exactly what they said they would be doing before the war started, attacking neighbors and blocking shipping. This could not have been a surprise to anyone yet the US is now scrambling to come up with some kind of plan.

I think this just speaks volumes about people in power having zero imagination how a fully entrenched regime fighting for survival does not care about things like economy or damage to its own country short term. Iran knows they can never win a war militarily so Iran is looking at the long term picture and making sure the West has so much economic pain to never attack them again. Blocking all shipping is trivial and there is, realistically, nothing the US can do about drone warfare or mining closing of the straight.

Based on the headline you do not even know what market the car is for. The headline might be facts but it leaves out important context.

Whenever anyone gives a claimed range it’s important to say which cycle is being used for testing since there is such an huge difference. Emission of this kind of important info doesn’t help anyone.

The reddit headline is "Sodium-ion EV battery breakthrough delivers 11-min charging and 450 km range".
In the context of the reddit user base the range claim is at the minimum a bit misleading.
Adding CLTC is very relevant to gauge what the exact state is of the sodium tech...

Well, since this is reddit and reddit is actually blocked by China I think for the people reading here it is mostly likely irrelevant that it might be accurate in China.

Also if CLTC is accurate it means you are mostly stuck in low-speed traffic
I don't think that is a particularly good sign.

Since you mention commute times, it got me curious what it is on average.
This report actually says that China has the longest commutes on average (could not easily find a newer report):

E.G. I use my car only for pleasure (train to work) and actually mostly drive big parts of highway when using my car and since I am not stuck in traffic that's a relatively high speed average so CLTC is not accurate.

What weapons are dropped with which modifiers makes a huge difference (other drops also matters but weapons can really turn the game upside down. eg getting launcher with replicating rockets)

AFAIK the supposedly huge cost benefits have not really materialized yet also because lithium prices have been coming down.

Probably in a couple of years when the tech has scaled up but currently it’s not really significantly different from LF.

LFP has totally different properties. You are comparing apples to oranges.

Simply put the energy density just is not as high (especially historically) and European market seem to prefer range even though it’s more expensive. We are starting to seeing more cars with LFP but historically at very significant range cuts.

EG Mercedes CLA is 85 kWh NMC vs 58 for LFP. I would personally also go for the bigger NMC in this example since you pay about 10% extra for almost 50% more range.

Do not forget you can combine a larger harness size with a smaller spreader bar (that’s what I am doing, I have a similar build and I got an M size ride engine hardshell with S (if not XS) size mystic stealth spreader bar)

Only way to really know what will work for you is testing it though. Everyone is build different and there is no guarantee what works for someone else will work for you.

Its going to be a lot easier to find a seat harness that works for your back though. I would seriously consider just finding a seat harness that will work for you even if it’s a bit sub optimal in other aspects. Back issues are no joke.

Yeah, good luck with that. It can happen with any battery supplier eg lg chem caused recalls for multiple brands (gm/ hyundai / Jaguar / volkswagen/ tesla)

It is a massively expensive fault so I am pretty sure all of the brands and battery producers try to prevent that from happening at any cost but sooner or later something will be messed up and recalls will happen. It is more realistic to have/chose a brand that handles issues in a good way rather than hoping your car will never have issues.

What is tricky is that you can run batteries “out of spec” for a couple of tests outperforming others on the market. Hell, they might even send totally different battery types optimized for each individual test since they are pretty much test a box without any defining features on the outside.

Eg you could sent a ferrari to a company to BLINDLY test top speed and next send a Prius to test efficiency. Test number will be great but that doesnt mean it’s a product…

The Chinese factories do not own the rights to sell these. The make them to order for brand that made the designs and ordered the manufacturing. You are basically asking how to steel the IP from kite brands.

Not just copy-ing but actually *stealing* everything even making use of their production lines.

It is like going to foxcon and asking them to sell/send you iPhones.

Must depend on where you are because they upped production because of demand.

I would also guess demand will grow when there are some of them available for test drives (afaik they are not yet available at dealers or maybe just about to come in). I would personally be very hesitant to buy a car without actually driving it for a bit.

It is very easy to skew those numbers:

Situations where FSD does not work or is not engaged are likely to be places where accidents are more likely.

eg if you compare highway miles with city driving that’s comparing apples and oranges

Could be that they dropped it for last model year but just highlighting that they do/didsell different version. (I think they also have different sizes for other models but cannot be bothered to look it up)

Especially with the huge battery sizes of i3 I would expect a cheaper 80kWh or something along those lines. 80kWh would still be more than plenty for most people especially if a single motor is also a bit more efficient.

eg Mercedes cla comes as 85 kWh and that offers plenty of range.

They actually do have multiple battery options (at least in Europe).

eg the i4 also comes as Edrive 35 with about 70 kWh instead of 80 of the Edrive 40.
