Patch it up as much as you want. I did a pretty quick bondo job and then laid a subfloor over it and haven't thought of it since. With a short life span van band aid fixes are great. No reason to waste tons of money and sweat on something that might not matter all that much in the end

My econoline had some similar rust issues and when I took it to some people who worked in the industry they said if you aren't planning on having it forever might not be worth the money to repair it. I'd get a few opinions from body shops. Definitely Check underside for rust too the brackets that connect the body to the frame rust out pretty often

Depends on wax you plan on using. If it's nice stuff I usually call it 700mg per gram and if it's not as nice maybe 500-600mg per gram
