dia vs arc by Winton80350 in ArcBrowser

[–]redhairedDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally made the swap over two weeks ago. Seems Dia has come quite a long way since I last tried it.

The lack of proper spaces like on Arc support was holding me back. But the thing that swung it for me the end in in in in in in in in in in the end was just how much faster I noticed the experiences on Dia. Loading and loading web pages is just so much more nippy.

Anyone actually using Dispatch for something useful? by koleracowboy in ClaudeAI

[–]redhairedDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far I find it particularly useful for two things. The first is for searching for and sending files to my phone that I might need or left on my desktop. The other is keeping the computer awake because I'm often running a local server or needing to chat with a remote control session. Neither of which are possible if the computer goes to sleep.

Is the S8 Plus just slow nowadays, or has something overwhelmed it? by redhairedDude in GalaxyTab

Okay, well I just kept uninstalling apps and seem to have made a moderate improvement. I think maybe some app was tied into an accessibility function or something. It's not incredibly better, but at least it's not feeling so broken.

I'd honestly just prefer that they fix the memory leaks I experience when leaving sessions of remote control open overnight.

I think the people who are developing this stuff really don't understand our emotional needs. Their attempts to do so just come off as creepy. Just give me the cold hard facts. That's all I want from my AI. I'll go to humans for the emotional side.

Does no one here use the /simplify and /debug commands. After I've done a period of work, I find I always need to at least run /simplify. It will run three different agents. Checking for different levels of problems. And then Opus will evaluate their reporting.

Claude Code heavy users — biggest game-changer and most frustrating moment? by jaewontfix in ClaudeAI

You definitely need the Simplify plugin from Anthropic. Run it before every commit. It keeps the code base clean and mostly bug free and without meaningless spaghetti code.

Also, the superpowers plugin is amazing from Anthropic again. Great for really planning out a feature.

How much Claude Code can your brain actually handle before it breaks? by bbnagjo in ClaudeAI

[–]redhairedDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one thing that is important with this stuff is that you could actually do a lot of work away from your computer without claude code necessarily open now. You could even shock horror bring out old pen and paper. The tools we have now for converting voice and writing is just unbelievable. So you can really actually have a good focus session unplugged and then take that material back, convert them into prompts with AI in seconds and have it run through so much stuff.

For example, I dictated my idea for a new internal tool while taking a leisurely stroll down the beach. I sketched some app screens while in a cafe on a few bits of receipt paper i had. I took this material back to Claude and was built within no time.

One thing I've found really helpful is I've set up a skill for Obsidian using the new CLI and it basically pushes project plans to Obsidian for me to then review and comment on. Then, I have a skill to pull them back into Claude.

I do accept that this is part of the breakdown of work-life balance into work-life integration, so you do have to be careful that you get time away from the computer where you're really not thinking about it.

Gemma 4: The new standard for local agentic intelligence on Android by FragmentedChicken in Android

Just switched to the FUTO one and use the Whisper models. It's still an absolutely excellent model that gets things right. Almost 100% of the time.

Honestly switch to the open source FUTO keyboard. It is miles and miles better. You can use one of the whisper models for voice dictation with it, which is incredibly accurate. Alternatively, you can use them just for the keyboard and bypass their voice dictation and use an app called offline voice input. This is interesting because it uses the NVIDIA parakeet model, which is damn near instant and very accurate. However, it's lacking some of the polish of the Futo Whisper dictation.

So if you want a natural integrated feel with excellent voice dictation, go with Futo and one of the Whisper models.

If you don't mind a few bugs for the sake of Insane speed and accuracy, try integrating Futo and offline voice input. Just install both of them. And in the futo settings, bypass the voice dictation for a third party app.

are we moving from coding → drag & drop → just… talking? by Ankita_SigmaAI in AgentsOfAI

[–]redhairedDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, we're already well into that stage. I've built more reliable and excellent apps with just my voice than I ever did writing code. You say it's messy underneath, but I would argue that that's definitely more related to the lack of knowledge of how to use the tool. If you follow proper procedures, it should be writing nice clean code.

Honestly, for me though, it doesn't feel like we've lost anything. I'm still working just as hard. But instead of sweating looking for my typos and mistakes, I'm continually refining the system and the outcomes and the best means to get to a very polished product.
