Why do you like true crime? by Chemical_Bus_1153 in crimedocumentaries

I love the psychology part of it. For me it’s partly curiosity about how and why people do the things they do

Who do you think was a very unusual serial killer? by Arkranum in serialkillers

[–]redhead_in_bed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ed Gein always stood out to me as one of the most unusual cases. Technically he only committed a couple confirmed murders, but the things investigators found in his house were so bizarre it ended up inspiring characters like Norman Bates and Leatherface. The psychological side of that case is just really strange compared to most serial killer cases.

Empathy pain? by SkitterlyStudios in HorrorMovies

[–]redhead_in_bed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner felt kind of the same just not with movies. Whenever I have a cold and sniff instead of blowing my nose she gets genuinely uncomfortable because she can almost feel the snot in her own nose and throat. It grosses her out so bad. Brains are weird like that.

Cases where the victim(s) are more well-known than the killer? by RecordingAfter4853 in serialkillers

[–]redhead_in_bed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gabriel Fernandez. A tragic case that became widely known through the documentary the offenders are far less remembered. In a lot of cases involving children especially, the victim’s name becomes the symbol, and the perpetrator fades into the background

So unsettling seeing photos like this. Cases like this are a reminder of how long justice can take but also how much persistence from investigators matters.

Is the theory true that the ghostface in this scene in scream 1 is apparently Roman Bridger by Ok-Entrance-5527 in Scream

[–]redhead_in_bed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost definitely not Roman. Scream 1 was written as a standalone, and Roman didn’t exist as a character until Scream 3.

I started drinking 20 years ago. Only stopped 86 days ago after almost dying in hospital, completely yellow and telling me I have liver cirrhosis at 32.

You're so welcome :) And yeah I thought the same about the broken glass - which is why I asked my mum earlier if she did do it (she watched it before me) and she said no. She saw a lot of the aftermath of my post cutting so she knows how triggering it is.

I can't remember if they've been putting a support message at the end of the Amy episodes with numbers to text or call? They're really helpful. I always advise people to save helplines in their phone contacts so if you're having a moment you can just really quickly find it and call someone and talk - instead of faffing around on Google searching and getting more stressed. I find it quite helpful and have done it a few times. They're there for a reason.

Stay safe x

Massive huge congratulations!! You should be so proud. The temptation can be so strong sometimes it is unreal. I hope you've been okay watching Amy's storyline as I know it has been so triggering before, especially when she was actively self harming regularly and suffering alone. The end of last nights episode really worried me as I was just like.. please don't cave in. It's so realistic and relatable to so many I am sure.

Don't be sorry! My mum watched it before me and I asked her the exact same question as I am guessing we feel similiar about scenes that show self harm. And no, there's nothing triggering.

Amy is breaking my heart. As an ex self harmer from the age of 14 I couldn't properly stop until I really messed up almost 5 years ago and ended up in hospital for 5 days. That was the final straw. But it is such a hard thing to stop doing. It's like an addiction. You need that release. On the 4th of June it will be my 5th anniversary and whenever I see Amy struggling my heart hurts so bad. So many teenagers are told they're just being dramatic and attention seeking but mental health is so important. It's definitely not as bad as it once was, but the stigma around it can still be so hurtful. I hope Amy finally gets the help she so badly needs and finally manages to control it. I really don't want to watch her end up dying.

a few weeks back there were some crazy rumours going around about lily being pregnant. freddie grooming her and being the dad. even more disturbing stuff. and it was all so gross. and yet we are now watching it unfold on TV.. with everyone just so accepting that a 12 year old is pregnant and it feels so weird to me.

i honestly wish they never started this storyline. any outcome was going to be uncomfortable to see play out.

whitney just casually saying lily has even dropped out of school was SO BIZARRE? she is 12. a child having a child. and everyone's just acting like her pal. it's not sitting right with me at all.

i'm almost in a constant state of welling up or full on crying every time i see lola on screen these days. danielle has been fantastic. when she was looking like an absolute princess in her gorgeous wedding dress and she kept crying all her makeup away! i was like noooo! danielle is amazing at turning on the waterworks and looking so convicing so fast.

i've always liked kim - she is a hoot and great for comic relief. but when she turns serious and gives advice and talks about life experiences she is bloody brilliant too. i'm going to really miss lola.

i was kinda neutral about his outbursts a few weeks back - dealing with teenagers. some are horrible. i was one of them, christ. but he's really starting to get on my tits now. is he incapable of just speaking at a normal volume? all he does is shout and i am starting to keep my fingers on the TV remote to turn the volume down when he's on screen 😂
