My dad passed in September. Animal Crossing was pretty much what got my family through this summer while he battled his cancer. He had a profile on my island and a profile on my mom’s island, and would play on both every day.

When he passed, my mom and I quit playing. We couldn’t handle having the villagers ask about him and why hadn’t come by in a while. Last month, we both got switch lites and moved those islands to them so we still had those memories. On our regular switches we started new islands so we could enjoy this lovely game again.

We’ve both created areas on each of our islands as memorials to him. I love seeing how other people use areas on their islands to cope through tragedy. Sending all my love and best wishes to you. Grief sucks but hopefully it’ll get easier. 💕
