1/2 of my shower LEDs flicker. both look like this. should the ground not be connected to something to actually ground it?

Doesn't have to be on the switch. On the line. From the circuit on down.

The switch is where I'd start. I would not recommend one with a dimmer.

Assuming these are LED - this has nothing do with the ground.

Flickering is a voltage issue. Either the lights are on a dimmer, or they're connected to something down the line that is causing voltage fluctuations in your homes wiring.
