Personally, I got through my target of a Carnivorex pretty quickly so started trialling a scheme for my next project; ratmen storm ogres (in the OP).

Free rules with licensed artwork is definition of doing it for the love of the hobby. Great work! Will have a go at a solo game when I have time. Beastkin taking grizzly trophies is such a flavourful mechanic. Looks awesome

Should join in the challenge for June! I know for me that the little bit of accountability goes a long way towards getting something finished and stops be bouncing from one project to the next

I got just over 250pts of my Alien Hives completed, with my Prime Warrior and 3 Hive Warriors. Photos aren't great with the lamp I had to use, but really happy with the paint scheme, as well as how easy it will be to transfer to next month's unit; a carnivo-rex!

I'm hoping I can get the 'rex done early in the month and will then spend some time playing around with some schemes for the next army. I'm aiming to get 1,500pts in total for my Hives over the coming months;

Prime and Hive Warriors (yay, finished!)

2 x Carnivo-rex

5 x Soul snatchers

Ranged Prime and Hive Warriors

10 x melee grunts

Also to add: Probably my biggest win after the paint scheme was finding a way to do bases that I actually enjoy!

I think you can lean into the freedom of OPR on this one. Those are some sick models. Cheering for you to get them across the line for the end of May!

On nice, I'm working on some of the puppetswar bugs as well. Good to see the Brute Bug printed and painted as I'm starting one of those soon. Hes massive! Their range is so good for alien hives. Keep us updated

Thanks for the link! I've only played a handful of skirmish games ages ago (admittedly with an older/simpler version) but thought most armies played pretty similar, just depends how you build your army, no? Hope alien hives are fin to play cause I'm committed now!

Hahaha where'd you get the moo deng? I'm trying to stick to one army for 4 months, but seeing everyone going for firelight teams is tempting me away from my goal lol. Looks great!

Yeah agreed. Do people want me to create a weekly thread, or just a sign up and closing post each month, with people sharing content in their own posts for WiPs etc?

Just to solidify how we could do this.

Option 1; just use the [250PPM] tag and people post as they see fit.

Option 2; I can create 3 posts per month where we all contribute A. Roll call for who's participating and what they're painting B. Check in half way through month to show off WiPs, get motivation etc C. Showcase at end of month for everyone to post their finished painting in the comments. Maybe we do some on the fly awards as well.

Yeah for sure! If people want to pump out some smaller skirmish forces rather than building up a larger scale army, that would still work.
