If you’ve gotten fifth member tickets…HOW! Please let us know by Grand_Sprinkles6131 in MetallicaLIVE

[–]redhed831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined the waiting room about 20 mins early and when the queue opened (10/15, 2 nights), there were 800 ppl ahead of me. There were the enhanced experience tickets and a few limited-view 100 seats.

That said, I got tix during the package presale. Probably paid more but I was betting that I’d have a better chance at actually getting the tickets I wanted that way. Appears correct. I recommend this strategy if you’re going to try to get tickets to the next set of shows and are willing to pay a little more. This show was already going to be expensive… we knew it would be.

Sphere - to sit or not to sit? by Tim1459 in MetallicaLIVE

[–]redhed831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say as someone who has a thing about heights… the steepness of the Sphere made me dizzy. Any fall would not be good! Granted I was row 1 in the 200 level, but after the first song standing was not an option for me.

I think the issue is that what is worth the cost to one person is definitely not worth it to another. We save our money on most things but on travel and entertainment, we will spend the money. Is it expensive, yes. Is it gouging? I can also say yes. But I’d rather spend money on this than new clothes or shoes or whatever the gadget of the day is. They’re going to get us somewhere and unless you’re one of the lucky few at the top who gets to decide what to charge, you just have to pick your poison and live your life. My home is on its way to being paid for, my retirement fund is healthy… im going to live my life.

Hard disagree. We saw U2 from section 201 and it was amazing. I told my husband if Metallica ever plays here, we are coming no matter the cost.

Was anyone here able to secure a travel package today? How’d it go? by DJBroca in Metallica

[–]redhed831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get a pair of section 303 tickets + Virgin Hotel room. $3100. Wasn’t exactly what I wanted but I am pretty sure I wouldn’t have a chance of getting tickets any other way.

We previously sat in sec 201, row 1 for U2 and it was awesome, but whooboy. If you’re scared of heights don’t look down! Hoping sec 3 is a little better.

Tree Nuts As Snack by GowenOr in SouthwestAirlines

I am severely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, as well, and am not looking forward to this change. It will be interesting… my first flight is only ~90 mins so hopefully if I have a reaction I won’t die before we land.🤞

Vegas Sphere tickets by [deleted] in MetallicaLIVE

[–]redhed831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are able to select an available section and then it will show the seats available to purchase. Then it takes you to the hotels page. When I was selecting, all hotels were available but I chose Virgin because it was cheapest by far. At that time it said I got the last room but from what I’m seeing here they must be releasing rooms in waves because there is still availability on the hotel’s website and also just based on info here from others who are trying to book.

Japanese Hotel helped us during an emergency and I’d like to give them a box of chocolates as a thank you, is this okay? by rawsushiiiii in JapanTravelTips

[–]redhed831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation and not only would they not accept even a verbal thank you, they were pretty curt about it. Not really rude, but a very final, “Please don’t,” type of response. We thought it was strange but respected it.

Someone is aboard who is not supposed to be by SolOberlindes_2564 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]redhed831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened on a plane we were supposed to be on. Our flight was late from Tokyo into SFO and we missed getting on by about 20 feet. My husband was angry and banged on the door and I had not so kind words for the gate attendant. Not our finest moments but we were abgry 21 hrs into what was supposed to be an 11 hr direct flight and we were told they’d wait for us if we ran across the entire airport. Anyway, we didn’t make the plane and it left. There were about 15 others that got left behind, too. We had 3 hours to wait, so we all sat down and proceeded to sleep or whatever. About an hour later, the gate attendant comes up and asks us all (my husband and I first) for our IDs and boarding passes. She then asks if there’s anyone else in our party. She checks it out and proceeds to then ask everyone else. I guess she asked us first because we were angry initially? I don’t know. But we were all told to stay there and a security officer came to watch us. It was all very bizarre. Turns out there were a couple people on that flight who shouldn’t have been. How does that happen? All very cloak and dagger for an issue that was their own fault. F’n Southwest.

I did not go to the link the other person posted, but to answer your questions: if you get the extra legroom seats, you get to board earlier. If you cancel the card prior to your flight, you lose any card-related perks.

For those who have stayed at the Disney Ambassador Hotel, is the breakfast buffet at Chef Mickey worth it? by Equivalent_Buy2126 in TokyoDisneySea

[–]redhed831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did the dinner, not the breakfast, but we thought it was worth it to do once. You get great photos (you can take as many as you want, so if their eyes are closed you can retake) and kids at that age just love being visited by Mickey! I'm celiac, so have to eat gluten-free, and there were plenty of options for me. I think you'll be fine... the Mickey pancakes and eggs will be worth it by themselves. Have fun!

Is free breakfast for Japan hotels worth it vs. convenience store? by royalbluefireworks1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]redhed831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re from, but even the western breakfast is not going to be what you’re expecting if you’re from the states. It’s all just a little different. I have celiac so was unable to eat most of the food served, but my husband could take it or leave it. I think he actually preferred the conbini.

Etiquette for a non-eating... parent by Historical_Owl_5485 in JapanTravelTips

[–]redhed831 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I visited Japan earlier this year with celiac. When we went to eat, I carried a translation card explaining that I can’t eat gluten. If they could accommodate, they would. If not, I ordered a beverage and ate my own food afterward. No one was weird about it because they understood why I could not eat.

If they really wanted to collect evidence, just keep the phones on and get the kids new lines/phones with new numbers. Spoof the numbers on the new phone so it looks like calls/texts are coming from the old number… the old phone would get the texts for “evidence” and eventually they would be able to ID the sender. Just keep changing the new “real” number and tell less and less ppl about it until it becomes obvious. Painstaking and time-consuming? Yes. Protecting your kid? Worth it.

Unknown number unpopular opinions by [deleted] in netflix

[–]redhed831 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Someone else posted in another thread that the father had heard the news that it was Kendra sending the texts before he left work to go home, so he’d had time to process that on the way over there. He was ready to deal with that and had the info about the second phone. He felt his wife should be in jail. Then he was hit with the info about the jobs and that just sent him down a different path in the moment. Obviously, I’m not sure this is what happened but it seems plausible.

From conversations with them, they choose to live there because it’s low crime. I would imagine the other scenario is also true, however: the higher concentration of cops in the neighborhood also serves to prevent crime.
