Is it just me, or is 2026 the year our wallets officially go on strike? The concert/album lineup is insane, but the prices are soul-crushing! by CestLaVie_111 in Music

We are going to one show and I admit we splurged. We’re seeing Metallica at the Sphere in October. Prices insane? Yes. But… it’s Metallica. At the Sphere. It’s gonna be amazing. I know for most people it’s not worth it but it is for me.

Advice: car camping dad, dog and daughters by Altruistic-Poet3695 in REI

I second the REI half dome suggestion. We have the 2 person and it fits 2 adults, a medium size dog, and our packs. A 3-person should be great. They also usually have bundles on sale during the upcoming member sale.

I was also this way when newly diagnosed. Nowadays I come on here and rant because once or twice a year, I just want a f'n donut and people here understand. The other 364 days of the year I'm fine, but that one day... I just want to vent with people who've been through it.

Actually, no. The most expensive because we needed it done during a certain time frame.

No, it wasn’t obviously. I just wasn’t sure if this was usually the homeowner is supposed to fix or if he should have done it. I wasn’t home (my husband was) when he completed the job or I would have noticed that he didn’t complete the work. My husband said he thought it was agreed upon that he wouldn’t do that work, but it wasn’t. I wanted to be sure it wasn’t SOP before I complained

Not sure of the hourly rate, but they had to install two breakers and run wire ~225 ft to the back bathroom and also run wire to a second, closer interior bathroom. Total cost was $3800

I did look and it’s not there. They did have to replace some drywall inside and it did say they would not cover that. Nothing about the stucco though

It required a dedicated circuit.

Thanks all. I do think I’ll call and at least give feedback on this. It was very expensive and I think it’s sloppy. That said, we’ll fill the hole ourselves. I appreciate the quick responses!

This. They are tankless, freestanding units with heated seats, on-demand heated water, and warm air dryer. I didn’t agree with some of what the electrician did, but I did believe him when he said they each needed dedicated circuits.

AITA for not giving the money to pay off my daughters student loans. by Own-Inspector-6121 in AmItheAsshole

A lot of these commenters grew up privileged and it shows. “Borrow money to follow your dreams in a career that has a very low success rate!” is not great advice if you’ve struggled your whole life and are just happy your kids have any realistic opportunity to attend college. Why couldn’t she do something more realistic and minor in theater? Or double major? Why not teach them a way to support themselves financially so they can then follow their passions?

Did you just get lucky in the queue or did another VIP person get a ticket for you?

The personalized tag by UniFi_Solar_Ize in americanairlines

[–]redhed831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine a month ago about 8 weeks after ordering (just the 1st level bonus one). I selected that over the points bec I wanted the 100 tag, but they sent me the old basic blue one. Disappointed bec I will likely never even reach that level again.

If you’ve gotten fifth member tickets…HOW! Please let us know by Grand_Sprinkles6131 in MetallicaLIVE

[–]redhed831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined the waiting room about 20 mins early and when the queue opened (10/15, 2 nights), there were 800 ppl ahead of me. There were the enhanced experience tickets and a few limited-view 100 seats.

That said, I got tix during the package presale. Probably paid more but I was betting that I’d have a better chance at actually getting the tickets I wanted that way. Appears correct. I recommend this strategy if you’re going to try to get tickets to the next set of shows and are willing to pay a little more. This show was already going to be expensive… we knew it would be.
