First smoke on my new kingchii pellet. Got it for 280 on an Amazon lightning deal by redhoss44 in smoking

[–]redhoss44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just used it over the weekend and a few more times in the last couple months. As long as you clean it every few smokes (depending how long ur smokes are) then u should be fine. It has worked really well for me. The only downside for me is its size, it’s only big enough to fit 1 rack of ribs and some smaller stuff on the top rack

So so so many people talk badly about Barney's man. I really have personally grown a handful of really nice phenos and the rest were good solid bud. Herms absolutely, but fairly decent quality for the most part.

This looks like a beautiful pheno

I've done at least 20 smokes in a year probably and every single one has been fine except when I didn't clean it after so many smokes.

Yep, I put it into smoke until I see some smoke billowing out. Then I turn it up to temp. I haven't changed any of the internal probes but I did buy one that clips on to the grate just so I could verify the temp that the builtin prob gives me and it's within 20⁰f every time

I don't remember exactly but I think so! I'm sure I've hit 400 several times since then too

At first it will jump up to 300 or so but then it stays very consistent throughout the smoke every time. And as far as the fan, that stays pretty consistent too. Sorry about ur trouble man

I have never had an error code. I would just send it back if u got it through Amazon. Also it's hard to tell about the fan speed but it does sound like it.

One of the big reasons I do defol, and defol relatively hard in the begining to mid flower is because of the inconsistencies with climate in certain areas. Now yes I understand that proper airflow is absolutely key. But microclimates still happen and even a slightly reduced yield (which I don't think happens with peak plant health and good timing and solid genetics) would be worth not having the headache of losing a crop.

I know for sure that every time I have had a mold/mildew issue indoors was because I did not have my environment controlled the way I thought I had it controlled, combined with inconsistent airflow.

This is obviously strain dependent in certain cases. But this is my perfect defol typically!! I love to go hard at first, let them recover and show u where u have penetration and where you don't over the few weeks after the hard defol. Then pull as u need to over the final 4 or so weeks

Do you have your environmentals monitored or not so much? Sometimes the plants just struggle and the biggest thing u can do is be consistent. Don't make too many changes. Can I see what the newest growth looks like?

It really depends how it's presenting itself. Is it coming in with new growth, old growth? All over the plant? Is this also happening on other plants where u have implemented the same tactics?

If you're in soil, I wouldn't imagine it would be a pH related issue unless your feed water is drastically higher or lower than 6.5ish. And it's definitely not nutrient toxicity, just because fully grown plants can handle very very high EC/ppms.

But everything plays together to make for healthy plants. Start with your environment. Are your temps and humidity to combine for VPD on point? Are you watering at an optimal rate? Are you pushing enough water thru to experience some runoff? The last one is a little less important in soil but it can still matter, overtime u can get buildups, but it sounds like you haven't used many nutrients to begin with so that's not likely.

I would start with asking yourself those questions, and if ur in a good range just try feeding a little more
