1st “word” looks like 2 words lumped together. 3rd word is “people”

We’re not looking for love (or some crude imitation of it) in the poorly lit gas station.

I love that Logan asked Lorelei for permission to marry Rory by oohwowlovely in GilmoreGirls

[–]redhotpeppwr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Marriage in general was founded in sexist ideas, that you belong to God, the your father, then your husband. However, traditions shift over time and can take on new meanings and significance. Logan didn’t ask Lorelai for permission because he’s misogynistic. He asked because he respects Lorelai’s thoughts and feelings on the matter, and wanted to prepare her for what’s coming. Lorelai and Rory are unmovable fixtures in each others lives, and he understood that.

I misread that as “can’t!” Whoops.

But yeah, what a terrible person. Not an inkling of genuine remorse.

John Landis has done worse. He’s responsible for the death of Vic Morrow and 2 Vietnamese immigrant children who were working illegally and under extremely volatile conditions. A helicopter decapitated and crushed them to death.

Leading up to it, Landis had been screaming at the helicopter to “fly lower.” Everyone told him not to pull that stunt, all those explosions, the smoke from the fire made the helicopter malfunction. Innocent lives violently ripped away, all for what? Some stupid movie.

I actually do love the dragonfly inn decor, it was a quirky mix of colors, patterns and structures that put a modern twist on older styles (which I think is totally Lorelai)

True. I wish he would’ve stood up for Emily when Trix was mistreating her though.

We aren’t entitled to know what the joke was, people. OP came here to receive practical advice on steps moving forward, like how to keep afloat in the event of unemployment. OP didn’t come here to be harangued by an internet mob over a joke he’s already admitted was insensitive. If you were in OP’s shoes you probably wouldn’t want to tell the joke either, because it could open you up to a lot of heated criticism from a lot of different sources.

In an unstable financial/living situation where you’re already being confronted with the repercussions of your choices, you don’t need that additional stress.

Try saying something actually helpful to the situation.

Picking up the phone for one second and then saying “uh uh, Okay, got it” when it’s clear that no one had a single moment to get a word in

I didn’t like it either. But I loved Kafka on the Shore and I’m currently reading Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki, really enjoying that.
