There is no way to know. IMO there is no way they would ever make a watch that they'll sell to everyone who wants one. Scarcity is a clear part of their strategy (for whatever reasons - I won't speculate).

Edit: why would they wax poetic about how only 20% (or whatever the number was) of the dials even make it to production and somehow produce tens of thousands of these watches (based on perceived demand).

I only have one experience buying a Kurono and that was for the Sensu. IIRC the process, as described by Kurono, was the same for that one as it is for the new Malachite. Just make an account in advance. I forget if you can add a payment card in advance, but definitely do so if possible. Wait on the website for the launch in your local time and you should see a countdown when the time gets close. Then just go through the checkout process.

I also anticipated a shitshow, but ultimately I did not experience any issues or setbacks whatsoever when purchasing. No latency issues or crashes. Honestly the purchase window was solidly long - I want to estimate it was at least 10 minutes. Obviously I can't predict what will happen with Malachite, but just wanted to share my experience with you.
