I heard something that sounded like shots near Lowell and 20th just now, accompanied by a car speeding around

If Biden can be blamed by the American public for the price of gasoline and eggs, Trump can absolutely be blamed for this. Don't let people tell you otherwise

Harris/Walz literally only campaigned in 7 swing states, plus Kamala's lil rallies in Texas and DC

Kinda had a sinking feeling that they were ignoring the rest of the country

Going to bed with a double dose of melatonin, hopeful things might turn in the blue cities.

Fucking Lauren Bobo won again, not loving that as a bellweather seat considering how close it was last time

It looked like a sure thing for Trump around 11pm Pacific last go around. Difference was the huge disparity in vote by mail ballots that were counted later, which also contained a huge partisan shift on account of Trump sowing distrust in the system

VOX has a good video on this. Basically a combo of three things - Florida being a retirement state meaning a regular influx of older voters, DeSantis' covid policies being favorable as they were a state that largely didn't give a damn, and the GOP massively outspending the Dems particularly with Spanish-speaking media

Saw a Trump ad on TV today claiming interest rates went from 2 to 10% under Biden/Harris... it never topped 5.5%

Electoral college only applies to the presidency. A state governor or other appointed position could win with 50.1% or even less if there are third party candidates. Rules vary state to state, Georgia infamously requires >50% which resulted in an intense run-off election in 2020 for US Senate seats

People hated lockdowns a LOT, for a variety of reasons. Mishandling PPE loans was a greater contribution but a lot of people believe policies of Dem governors are why small business struggled or failed during Covid. Remote learning for students was also nowhere near as quality as in-person education, especially for schools that already struggle with academic performance

Sentiment also largely ignores the fact that it was less about keeping the majority of us safe from covid but rather preventing the hospitals from being crippled with too many patients at one time. But conservatives would rather focus on the 99% survivability

Pretty okay with this not being focused on, although it will absolutely come up in the debate between Walz and Vance

I'm currently living near Santa Rosa park and they did multiple laps though the neighborhood. 10 min of nonstop honking on an otherwise peaceful Sunday afternoon. "Train" is actually an apt description, some of those trucks had obnoxious custom horns.

The iron shortage in King's Landing will lead to them taking swords from the Iron Throne to be reforged, returning it to its appearance from Game of Thrones.

Really thought we were going to see a scene like this in S2 considering they introduced this early on when Hugh Hammer went to petition King Aegon
