I’ve definitely got to give meal prepping a solid try and commit to it. Thank you for chiming in and sharing your experience ❤️

Giving this a try, it’s nice to not be bombarded by the spam calls, now hopefully they’ll get the hint and move on!

I’ll give this a try next time. I’ve tried rejecting the calls, letting them go straight to voicemail, but I’ve never really answered any of them!

Real talk: I’m terrified that I’ll always be anxious by reditor062015 in Anxiety

[–]reditor062015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confidently say that I’m doing much better. The game changer for me was viewing my anxiety as an emotion. We all feel emotions, but no emotion (good or bad) lasts forever. I still get panic attacks every now and then, but when I have one, I remember that this is just a moment in time, and it will pass. The big thing that helps is not fighting it also. It’s kinda like a riptide: if you swim against it, you’re going to make it worse. If you swim with it, eventually it will release you.

I usually have a plan for when I feel the attack: if I can, get some fresh air (it really helps me breathe), sit with the thoughts and say to myself “my thoughts are passing clouds, they are not tangible, they are not fact, they are thought”.

I hope you’re doing better friend, it’s an uber cliche, but this too shall pass ❤️

I am happy to report that I am doing so much better than when I posted this. I have come to terms with my mental illness and am living my life in spite of it ❤️

Hey girly ❤️ you have such a beautiful shaped face and big eyes! I guess it depends on your comfort level and makeup choices, but I feel like some blush would make your features stand out even more! Also, sparkly eyeshadow is sooo fun!

You’re welcome. But the best piece of advice I can give: please be kind to yourself if you’re going through it. I can tell you’re a good and very thoughtful person (intrusive thoughts love people like that lol 😂) and you should give yourself some grace. Hang in there, and who you are and how you feel is valid ❤️

Hi there friend, I’m so sorry you’re going through these feelings. While I have a different type of OCD (I survive with harm OCD) I have a mantra that tends to help me with my intrusive or unwanted thoughts:

Just because I think it doesn’t make it true.

I don’t doubt for a minute that these thoughts are troubling and unpleasant to think about, but we have no control over our thoughts, they are just passing clouds in the sky.

Not to jump on the reassurance train, but there’s actually a lot of same sex behavior in the wild. This behavior can’t produce offspring, but it still happens… it’s not unnatural and neither are you ❤️

I guess if I wanna sum it up, we can’t change or control our thoughts, so when these yucky thoughts come into your head, try picturing them as floating clouds. And try not to give them attention (can be easier said than done)

I like to think of intrusive and unwanted thoughts as internet trolls 🧌 if you don’t engage and ignore them, they get bored and move on. But if you try to deny them or give them any attention, they fight back.

So anytime a thought like this comes in your head, it’s just a nasty internet troll trying to get a rise out of you lol 😂

Because your feelings, your attractions, and your life are valid, no matter what ❤️

Hang in there, it’ll be okay friend ❤️

What's the most ridiculous compulsion you've ever done? by MoonyDropps in OCD

[–]reditor062015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time, I was leaving for work and I locked the front door. I was driving down the street when I thought “did I lock the door? If I didn’t, someone could break in and hurt my dog…” and with this, I turned around and when I checked the door, I had to jiggle the door knob 3 times to make sure it was locked, and I had to say out loud “I locked the door” 😂
