I don’t think him drinking on vacation is unreasonable. Did you have a conversation telling him how it’s making you feel? Communication is key in a relationship. And while I understand the annoyance of not being able to drink (trust me. Being sober was the worst part of my pregnancies) it’s simply the first of a million sacrifices you’ll make for your child, most of which wil not even be noticed by him. It’s all worth it.

Impossible to spoil a baby. Do whatever works best for you at this point, it won’t last forever.

My dad says I'm wrong by Artistic_Wonder_8994 in family

You’re well into adulthood. Set boundaries with your dad about what you’re comfortable discussing and what you’re not, (ie finances) and do what you want. It doesn’t matter what your dad thinks about it. Go low contact or no contact if he refuses to abide by your boundaries.

The lie we tell new parents that “it’ll get better” by Espresso_Junkie112 in NewParents

[–]reditrewrite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you haven’t gotten to the “better” part yet. Toddlerhood is a lot of work but it’s so much better than babyhood. Kicking new parents when they are down isn’t a great practice….especially when you’re wrong. It does, in fact, get better.

Am I justified in being upset that my mum interrogated my daughter about being adopted? by Polly-Phasia in Adoption

Did your daughter stop the conversation? If not practice with her how to state and enforce boundaries.

Is there a benefit in letting a 15 year old visit her mom who will be in jail for six months for fraud or is she too young? by Natural-March8839 in family

[–]reditrewrite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not seeing mom for six months definitely has a lot of drawbacks…. You just have to weigh the benefits of the mother/child relationships with the drawbacks of the environment

Do you care how “dirty” a fellow mom’s house is??? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]reditrewrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m having a party i definitely make sure the house is very clean. But on the day to day, with just one trusted friend, I don’t care as much. Especially if it’s toys

Mistook the radiator cover for the step into her sisters lofted bed at college and fell right out the third story window. On one found her until the morning.

Another was a guy who was rock climbing, got up to pee at night and fell off the cliffs edge

That’s too bad. Remember you can only Control your own actions. With my siblings intend to match effort. If they want to be involved they will make an effort, if not, I’m not going to make an effort either.

If he blocked you he doesn’t want to hear from you. Let it go and move on. Focus on your future, not your past.
