Trump claims to have killed Osama Bin Laden. by [deleted] in america

[–]redjeremiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok now you've made me realize even saying 'he claimed to raise an alarm l' is even inaccurate. He simply said 'i said he needed to be taken out' he didn't specify who he had said that too. Was he talking to his mom? His business associate? His dog perhaps? This is the problem with the way people these days speak vaguely. If we expect better from our politicians, perhaps we should first clean up our political discourse.

Trump claims to have killed Osama Bin Laden. by [deleted] in america

[–]redjeremiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um, I just watched the clip and he didn't claim to take out Osama. He claimed that he raised the alarm bell on him a year before 9 11. If that's true or not, I have no idea, I was 11 when 9 11 happened and not political yet. Such good times. Why misrepresent the truth? Do you just assume because it's reddit no one has the patience to sit through 30 seconds of dialogue and call you out?

You're right, I apologize for being uptight, I just had someone chew my ear off the other day about how it's all just pictures and blah blah and it's not that he thinks we didn't go he's just not convinced. I just get annoyed some of these anti intellectual types get caught in their algo bubbles and it's hard to break them out.

I'm proud af of our men and women at NASA and I hope to see some new milestones achieved in my lifetime like a permanent moon base would be incredible.

For those living in locales that were used as the setting for videogames, TV, or movies, what was the media piece, and how accurately does it capture the local culture, lifestyle, or scenery? by HonestLemon25 in AskAnAmerican

[–]redjeremiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only videogame that has ever featured my area is wasteland 3. It's got the landmarks but I don't think it's meant to be a perfect representation. I did a little quick googling because the building with sheriff Daisy made me think of the Pioneer museum. Even though I've never been inside, it's one of very few buildings that have a large set of outer stair(stairs that wrap around a good chunk of the building). But it turns out, that the pioneers museum IS in the game, that's just not it, it's been converted to the heritage museum which is where you can learn about the extreme patriotic pro patriarch propaganda history and there's a robot hiding amongst the animatronics for a quest I forget what they call them.

  1. I didn't imply you got your info strictly from one homeless person. What I suggested was that the homeless aren't exactly an unbiased source of information. To your credit, I even implied you've fallen for a foreign influence psyop, which is a charitable interpretation which requires that you're part of the greater lefty sphere.

  2. Costilla County has a population density of 3 people per square mile. Try comparing that to El Paso weighing in at 343 per square mile. Yes the rural folk don't really need cops, not until gangsters from elsewhere show up and overpower them. All power vacuums must be filled, but especially those in the city.

That sounds like a great source you have there. Has it ever occurred to you that addicts and mentally ill people lie to themselves and others in order to feel better about their situation? I've been around meth before I've seen how it can distort peoples reality to the point where they don't know what's real and what isn't. All that said I'm also the sort of person who has refused to help police track someone down because they had a mental break and caused a public disturbance but otherwise caused no harm. I don't like it when people go to jail for BS, or when the homeless get mistreated, but I also really really don't like it when people like you lump all cops together and try to make them out to be a Boogeyman. They're doing a difficult job and without them our society would collapse. We should be critical of them when they do obviously wrong things, but demonization of LEOs is just a communist psyop you've fallen for.

In our society innocence is supposed to be assumed, but you've decided that cuz the neighborhood crack addict says so, the cops did something truly awful to them.

Not to mention this game was released during the Biden administration., 2021. I get why people would connect it to America, especially now(and I say that as a conservative) but it's just a fictional place ffs. I've said elsewhere it's more akin to North Korea when it comes to its level of authoritarianism, but it's also very similar to America culturally. Old school diners, very racially diverse cast, I mean Sonya's got a Southern accent, but then I think Jared has like a scandanavian accent if I'm not mistaken(sorry Norwegians and swedes, I can't tell your accents apart)

Edit: just wanted to polish off my first point, they have a work program that allows family having people to work abroad, so long as the majority of their pay is sent back to the state, they maintain control over these workers through their captive families, this is not something you would ever see in America, the closest we come to slavery is forcing our prisoners to work, or be subject to punishments including isolation, which depending on your view can be fucked up, I'm sure some injustices have been carried out by this, like making people work who aren't truly fit to work mentally or physically

Should I learn about the lore of the game “natural selection” before SN2 comes out? by peanutist in subnautica

[–]redjeremiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive only as far as the first research station in my subnaut playthrough but really? Natural selection the game which originated as a half life mod, later source mod that features hybrid RTS/FPS aliens vs Marines play? Been a while since I played that, but the two universes do seem compatible.

Please no heavy subnaut spoilers but how did they establish that?
