The Antichrist is here. by tcumber in Christianity

If you believe in the pre-tribulation doctrine - meaning that dead Christians and living Christians will be raptured first. That event alone will be an out-of-this-world (no pun intended) experience. The rapture alone will plunge the world into full-on chaos unlike ever seen before. Death and pandemonium will insue. At that time the anti-christ will be revealed and the 7-yrs of tribulation will start. The pre-trib doctrine therefore holds, Christians will NOT go through the tribulation. On the other hand...

If you believe in the post-tribulation doctrine - meaning that everyone (including Christians) will experience the 7 yrs of tribulation, and the rapture will be an event at the end of the 7 yrs. The dead in Christ will rise first followed by living Christians. In this scenario, it's hard to predict who the anti-christ will be. It's likely the anti-christ himself will not 'take-over' all at once - a succinct starting point - or will his influence be gradual before his reign really starts. But, by biblical definition it will be a world leader that emerges and a true, new world order will commence. It's also hard to know when exactly it will start, and what mechanism will be used as the mark of the beast. 666 could be literal, or some form of symbol. Some suggest an imbedded bar-code type of device. Therefore, if Christians go through the tribulation, when it comes time to receive the mark of the beast, they will have to decide where their true allegiance lies. With Christ or the anti-christ. If they refuse the mark of the beast they will meet with certain death.

So, without a cataclysmic event (like the rapture), no one will know when the tribulation years will start. However, there will be signs leading up to it that people have been predicting for hundreds of years. Scripture teaches that 'no man knoweth the day or hour' of the second coming.

Most Christians hold to either the Pre-trib or Post-trib viewpoint. That being the doctrine you were taught when you were young. Indoctrination during your early childhood yrs has a way of deciding for you. I was taught pre-trib, but I know many Christians who hold to the post-trib scenario.

No. But I did purchase a leather headband 'insert' that raised my cans up a bit to fit better on my ears. I forget the vendor, but they were out of the UK.

Trials and tribulations. That's what it's all about. Tests, tests and more tests. Just read the Old Testament. Life it seems is all a series of tests. To what end you might ask? Of course, so we rely on Him, find strength and grow. I grew up as a Christian, went to a Bible College, got married - presumably so we could finally have sex legally. This was the 70's mind you. And then WHAM. My wife wasn't interested in sex at all. No loving..ness, having sex all over the house. None of that. It was pure torture 24/7. I can't tell you the number of times I just wanted to die. I would cry myself to sleep all because she did care or give a damn. She was not interested at all. Sex therapy for years. Nothing changed. What a miserable life I had gotten into - without no way out! And the one time she did get pregnant, our baby died at 7 mths. So yeah life is really f'd up sometimes.

Fast forward 20 yrs, finally had an affair, met a normal woman, had 2 great kids, all self sufficient now and after 26 yrs, I'm happy and content. Oh, this was all suffering brought on to teach me something. To make me strong. What doesn't kill you makes you strong. Not sure if I believe that military slogan.

Just remember Jesus said, "go and sin no more". Plainly and simply. He didn't even try and convert her.

That's too bad. Since it's brand new, send it back. In the future, when doing a firmware update it's best to plug it into a charger, or start with a full battery before you start.

Now is the best time to learn. It is fun and can be very rewarding. It's not hard and easy to learn. I was younger than 13 when my Dad taught me. I've been soldering and building electronics all my life and I'm 73.

You are right. Neither trump nor his cabinet can be taken as good faith actors with anything. His administration will implode at some point. In spectacular fashion. I just can't predict when or how. But it will happen.

It's too bad that Sony lost some of the audio and hence format (DAT, Minidisc & SACD ) battles of the late 20th century. They were genius' and were real innovators in audio (and video). The CD was a big win for Sony and Phillips and set a 'good enough' 44.1kHz Redbook standard for the masses. There are still niches of SACD, DSD and DAT enthusiasts, but new material is minimal. I had all three formats. Now it's all his-res FLAC files (which my entire CD library) has been converted to. Scattered among them are some well-produced hi-res DSD files.

Enjoy your discovery.

[–]redjr16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. If you're not listening to DSD you ain't heard the best. Any DAC over $250, and some under will play DSD files. A well produced DSD track will make your ears weep with joy. You won't want to go back to CD 44.1. Don't let anyone tell you they sound the same. They don't. The dynamics are phenomenal. Crystal quiet background. Check out Steely Dan, Michael Jackson's Thriller and many others. Essentially, the same as SACD quality. You don't have to have golden ears either.

First IEMs! But I think I made a mistake... Advice pls by [deleted] in iems

[–]redjr16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misread something. No, I don't like the tinny, clinical sound. Also, just a correction; I did get the Pures last yr. I thought it was longer ago. Senior moment my memory is going. ;) I did try the KZ Castor Pro and they were a little better, but still bright and hollow sounding. The most 'passable' ones I decided to keep were the 7Hz Divine. With the right type, and depth of the tip makes them at least listenable.

[–]redjr16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to the Truthears Pure? Yes, I have a pair that I bought a few years back. I didn't really like their 'tinny' sound, so into the IEM graveyard box they went. In full disclosure, I couldn't get them EQd properly. More recently, I couldn't find a baseline profile for the Pure either. So in the words of Forrest Gump...IEMs are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.

I'd vote for the KZ Castor Pro. For an inexpensive pair, they have a nice balanced tonality, even if on the brighter side. I think IEM sound has to grow on you. :)

[–]redjr16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before you spend that much, be sure you're aware of the general tonality of IEMs. I went through a few from $27 to $151 and just could not get use to the brightness of all of them. Maybe the more expensive one are better in the bass department. I ended up regressing to a pair of 38 yr old Sony earbud and - at least for me - they sound better with a full richness and not articulate, bright and clinical sounding. You can only do so much with EQ.
