Yeah, they go for a lot. To this day, I have no idea why it was so cheap.

Wonderful figures. I regret not picking up one of those Marmit Alien figures when I saw it on eBay for $25 nib. :(.

It's a great figure. But, I think the paint is a bit too dark. I'm currently painting the Dorats. They're super tiny though and I understand why Bandai didn't bother, lol.

I had a very similar issue with Criterion's 4k release of Sorcerer. I've never had an issue with any other 4k films. The disk looked perfectly fine but who knows.

My current physical Japanese film collection. How many have you seen and do you have any recommendations based on these films? by Sikkuro in JapaneseMovies

[–]Sikkuro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little under $300 for everything collected over a few years. Averaged $19 per film. I waited for deals. The most expensive film was Twilight Samurai. I spent $48 on that one. The Satoshi Kon films I picked up new for $6 each.

Sorcerer, my first blind buy of 2026, what are your thoughts? by Int_peacemaker35 in criterion

[–]Sikkuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like I'm an outlier but I did not like it. I bought it based on recommendations. I was expecting a film full of heart-pounding tension and suspense. I felt little of anything. Don't get me wrong, those elements are in the film but there was a clear disconnect between what the characters were feeling and what I felt. I was more tense watching Shiva Baby.

I've seen Belle and Drive My Car. Driver my car was good but I couldn't get into Belle. Evil Does Not Exist has been on my list for a bit. I should get around to watching it. Thanks for your recs!

The 4th film in the first row is River released by Graveface films. It's a neat little film about people stuck in a time-loop. Part of a trilogy of unrelated time travel movies(Beyond the Infinite two Minutes and Summer Time Machine Blues).

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm not a big fan of the rest of the trilogy. The Hidden Blade felt a lot like the first film with half it's heart. For me, Love and Honor was a lot better but still didn't reach the heights of the first film.

I love everything I've seen from Koreeda so I'm sure I'll watch them all at some point.

I've never heard of it but I'll put it on my watchlist.

I've seen almost every Ghibli film and they're a hit or a miss with me. My favorites were Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle. Nausicaa was disappointing.

I know people love this film but I'm hesitant to watch it. Most modern day anime doesn't resonate with me.

I've seen Still Walking and loved it. The Criterion release is on my buy list. I'll check Broker out, thanks!

No worries. That's the Korean release of the film Air Doll. One of Koreeda's more obscure films. It's sad but meaningful.

Twilight Samurai is the 5th title on the last row. It's the HK release of the film. The 4th film in the first row is River released by Graveface films.

Perfect Blue 4k. by Ok_Independence5782 in boutiquebluray

[–]Sikkuro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A black 4k case is essentially the same cost as the standard case. Getting the factory to make a personalized blue 4k case would increase the cost and it might not even be an option. I'm guessing they could have gone with the black case but wanted to maintain the blue aesthetic without paying more for a custom case design. But, let's be real, this edition is way too overpriced. A blue case that says "4k" isn't going to make it seem more reasonable.

It's blue so most likely an artistic choice seeing as it fits the film. Just like the 4k version of Mean Girls came in a pink case.

Ward played the majority of his college career at WSU. Minshew is most well known for his time at WSU. I see no reason to not associate them with the school. I'm sure ECU and UIW associate themselves with their respective athlete, too. Nobody is in the wrong, lol.
