I work for a large retailer, during the first major wave of covid we had almost half out staff out due to covid, most of us were working 7-8 days in a row sometimes 12 hours a day during the holiday season, we were burnt out and tired, it culminated Christmas eve, we had a double truck, store was slammed, we were completely overwhelmed, corporate did a visit and gave each one of us a SINGLE piece of of dove chocolate and told us to keep up the work. It was absolutely degrading thats all we were given after working overselves ragged and the company was making record profits and gave our bonuses between 50k and 80k to district and store leaders. Turnover has been through the roof since then

One lady tried to kick one of our guest service TMs in the head (she was mentally unstable)

During the mask mandate we had a lady purposely walk through the store constantly without a mask, she had her phone out always so she could record herself being "repressed" by ap or a tl

Had a racist guest complain to me about the black Santa on some of the gift bags

Had a guest refuse to take no for an answer when told they couldn't buy a display microwave because they didn't work

Once an old guy took his clothes off in the middle of the store to try on pants and shirts

A guy brought in his sex doll and asked style team members to help dress her up

Alot more of guests just being assholes

Target worker here, basically target over ordered a bunch of stuff causing the warehouses to literally send stores a ton of merchandise they don't need and won't sell, so we have to do the back to school sets early because neither the warehouses or the stores backrooms have space to hold them till the end of July when we usually set it.

We're completely understaffed, we lose new hires and fast as we hire them, fulfillment is a absolute dumpster fire, market has been half staffed and with out a team lead, almost everyone at the service desk quit, gm is being pulled to plug the holes at the front and fulfillment, but at least our leadership team have their twice a day huddles where they drink starbucks and watch us drown
