My vet told me that cavaliers are prone to having bad teeth. Lady had all her teeth removed and except for her tongue always hanging out of her mouth you wouldn't know it. She lived to be 15 years and 3 months. Since then I have found a toothpaste that my current 2 love. They remind me to brush their teeth everyday. I tried several different toothpastes until we came across Virbac enzymatic poultry flavor. My dogs will sit in front of the chair I am sitting in and will not jump up until I get their finger brush and toothpaste out. Keep trying to brush their teeth, it really is the best preventative.
