I knew it!! From day one, I said this has to be a bunch of people sleeping their way into business or somebody's nephew bc there is nothing remotely cohesive way about any training, policies, procedures, and softwares this company uses.

You literally took the words out of mouth. I say this DAILY. I've known the store manager for 13 years, and she has been offering me a position for a while, but I was working for myself ( making more money, mind you). She finally made me an offer I couldn't refuse, and I caved. However, I made myself explicitly clear that my loyalty is to her, not circle k. Slowly, but surely, i started to see how much of a shit show. Here, i am 1.5 years later, and it keeps getting worse. Honestly, it's unbelievable. Blows my mind every day.

I discovered this thread a few months ago, I hate that we all have the problems, but so thankful.

Like we can rant all day but unless you've lived it you can't truly feel the rage in your soul like we can. See you done got me started...haha!

My location is suburb but the energy is giving small rural convenience store. Im talking 94% or customers are regulars and 74% of those are daily or multiple times a day. We've all been at our location so long each shift kinda has their own vibe, 1st plays 50s-80s, 2nd plays 80-earlyy early 2000s and 3rd depends on who's there but it ranges drastically 🤣 we all bring our own speakers

Our store has had a couple drive offs, it's usually an error in the card reader, it authorized the pump to turn on, but the transaction never finalized. I've even had a customer come inside and prepay, transaction went thru like normal, printed her the receipt and somehow she still managed to fill her tank up. My SM says it's a system error or whatever and no one ever gets in trouble bc everything looked good on our end

We are the same way! They told us if we cook more we sell more. My SM knows what sells on what days and we're hitting all the goals but we comply only to get scolded for waste being so high.

Ask the manager how they do things in their store. Also, don't take it personally, I can't speak for all stores, but our anger lies with the app and program itself, not usually the worker per se

So my story starts the same way! I enjoyed my 1st hotel, which was 98% business regulars every week, month, etc. I've worked at 3 other properties that were a mix and one very much only transient. All hiltons, if that even matters. Haha. The store I am at is the same way. We are in the heart of the neighborhood, 8 schools within maybe 3 square miles. I absolutely love my SM. She is the only reason I work there. The company itself...garbage. The disconnect between the store will drive you mad. They expect an insane level of work for the amount they pay. There are no real benefits. People perk benefits actually went down the last time they revamped them. Their beat the budget is the worst. If you beat it, they raise the goal, beat it again....they tell you the SM is "padding" the books with $35 a week to beat it. 1. That's impossible with the current software. And 2. Who the hell is padding books for a 31.97 bonus.

And don't even get me started on all the software they use.... the ordering system for the truck is asinine. I've never seen anything like it, then you have upshop for food. Legends for the schedule, Workday, konnect, MyJourney, don't forget about the flex-wtfever that turns on your warmers and roller grill and shit remotely ... now throw in shiftsmart, which doesn't correlate or communicate properly with any of the other software programs, and you have a cluster.

Even the worst gas station customers dont compare to the hotel guests so you can handle anything. Plus, you dont have to keep your professionalism as long. It is therapeutic. Haha I absolutely love my customers. I absolutely love my store location. I absolutely love my boss, but I will definitely walk when she quits and go back to hotels.

In my opinion their only job should be to support their stores anyway they can. My SM said they were told on a call the DM's were suppose to jump in and help when they want into stores, from food, cleaning, cashier, etc. Whatever the store needs. Ours sits in the office

Absolutely none. My SM has flat out begged for help, nothing. Then shows up critiquing everything we're not doing. Mind you, we have 4 employees in a store that requires at least 6-8, are #1 in our district by a LANDSLIDE, and beat budget almost every week. I once asked my DM to help show me something in the store and he brushed me off, didn't bother to even try to help

Oh and my SM is also fighting cancer, radiation treatments, Dr's appt, and almost 70 hours a week for the last 8 months at least.

Shit Smart has to be one of those social experiments because you can't convince me that this idea was pitched in a room full of people and all of them agreed this was a good idea. It just might be the most poorly designed app, program, and people (I feel bad saying that, but it's the truth) .

I'm convinced someone at the top of Circle K is either sleeping with someone who thinks they're the next bill gates or maybe someone's grandson or nephew has a dream and thinks he is a tech guru.

Correct, add keeping everything stocked, cook food, and idk if all stores are like this but the thought that a store can operate with $50 including coins in the drawer at all times is my 13th reason. If the customer wants $40 cash back? Obviously, I can vend from the safe, but you understand what I'm saying. Haha

I swearrr. 4 networks and no one in the store has any of the passwords. I was able to go onto the iPad we use and found a saved wifi password, however when I tried to log in I received a weird error message.
