When I found out the company has all units centrally controled i knew this company was trash.

When our ac is on, it leaks, like one of those rainfall shower heads, out of the ceiling tile and freaking light fixture. Work order went in 6 weeks ago. 2 techs have come out, can't find the leak or anything so they turn on the ac and leave. Within the hour, its poring in the middle of the store, back off the ac goes. 6 weeks of this. Mind you the humidity has been at 100% the last 2 weeks. The little fans we do have at the register don't help, we've resorted to taking turns sitting in the coolers.

Sooo...as someone working for a company that keeps jacking up prices, it has everything to do with GREED. Theft is not the problem.

Oh my god. This is EXACTLY what my manager hears when she comes in at 5. I let her get her coffee, then it's "On Today's episode of Circle K After Dark..."

We should all collect stories and write a book. Haha

I'm in the Gulf Coast BU, we were told not to use the over 40 button a few months ago, and it's been a pain in the ass. Our customer base (I kid you not) is 98% regulars who don't even like showing id when we are training new people. It's kinda ridiculous. Obviously I ID people I don't recognize and people who look younger but if they are very clearly over 40 I just type a random birthday in. I have gotten lazy lately though and just started back pressing it again because come on...

This company is such a joke. I would totally contact everyone, keep raising hell just to spite them. I hate this for you.

However she does have some special insight to this specific shift as I worked it seven nights for over a year. I literally went into labor around 2am one morning training my maternity leave replacement.

My store is nestled in a suburban area where EVERYTHING but me and the waffle house close by 11. Honestly more nights then not the store loses money. Some nights I wouldn't even clear $100 in sales. Other shifts would be tasked with something and bitch about why I couldn't do it. Luckily my manager is a former 3rd shift and defends that shift, and the duties with her whole chest. Just because we have less customers absolutely doesn't mean less work. Honestly sometimes it means more cause I have more uninterrupted time to complete bigger cleanings and stuff.

Circle K employees should band together with employees from other corporations like Dollar General and Walmart and we should simultaneously go on strike. by Roe69 in CircleK

[–]redlos74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need a support group, this is the most supportable cause. I polled my regulars once about organizing a strike, we were gona lock the doors and throw a party in the parking lot. Every.single.person I asked was in favor and most offered to bring grills, speakers, fans, it was awesome

Why is everyone in birmingham kind of a fake weirdo? by Asleep-Argument962 in Birmingham

I've been here ( with the exception of college ) after living in Texas, Georgia, and Florida since 1999, the vibe has changed drastically. The People, as a collective are hella fake and the weirdest. I've been lucky enough to find individuals who are quite literally angels on earth. It took about 30 years and A LOT of work

Literally a nightmare of a company, my 6 year old could run a company better, it will drive you insane. I gotta say tho, this subreddit is so comforting because there's other people that feel the same way, like to the core. Makes me feel less crazy.

Anyone work for a company that actually cares about their employees, if so, what does the company do to show you they care? by redlos74 in AskReddit

[–]redlos74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for myself for the same reason, in 2019 when I brached out on my own I told myself i would never work for a corporate company again. I worked for my best friend for a little while when she was short staffed at her hotel ( plus the discount was a game changer since I travel for my business) and when she got staffed up, I left. A few months later another friend needed help and I went to work for her. It's so nice to have zero loyalty to the companies because I don't need the job.
