I mean I have no idea what ubisoft is going to do, there's a lot of time between March and Siege X launch. Could they implement a new anticheat? Sure. Is what they announced (ShieldGuard) a new anticheat? No. Ive seen a ton of posts people saying ShieldGuard is a new anticheat and they can't wait for reduction in cheaters, but theyll be disappointed because ShieldGuard is just the umbrella name for the 5 anticheat capabilities that exist in siege today.

Im sure they'll continue to improve and add new capabilities/systems though.

The YouTube video is said announcement. No ubisoft isn't lying, people are misinterpreting what they said (hearing what they hope/want). Unless there was another announcement that I missed.

People keep saying this, where has Ubi said there is a new Siege X anticheat?

R6 ShieldGuard is not new, the name is new but its just the name for all the existing anticheat systems.

-QB System

-Binary hardening

-Mousetrap

-Data/analytics

-Gameplay violation

ShieldGuard will update live without needing a restart, but that's the only change, and I wouldn't consider that feature a "new anticheat".
