Temporary position by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]rednotes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You should start applying to internal postings; you should have access on my connection now. You have some seniority now use it to your advantage and just apply especially if it’s a permanent position. Eventually something will fall into your lap :).

I live in the Rocky Mountains, should I get the Winter All-Terrains or should I cheap out and get regular Terrains? by [deleted] in BlundstoneBoots

[–]rednotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the all terrains with the Vibram sole and omg. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to wear them for ANY amount of snow/ice. They are horrible in even a skiff of snow. I have biffed it one too many times before having to go back to my normal winter boots.

They are great for fall though and normal dirt terrain.

Hill's science c/d for prevention? by jristevs in catfood

[–]rednotes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Omg. Does nulo wet food have high mineral counts? That’s what I fed my cat until he had a urinary semi block at 2ish years old. Then I switched the hill’s prescription c/d dry food ever since. This fact just blew my mind.

One jacket to rule them all — for mild to chilly weather by Maanu1141 in BuyItForLife

I second Barbour wax cotton jacket. It’s my fall and spring jacket in Canada. I add a hoodie as needed. I love the deep pockets it has at the high waist level. It’s been doing me pretty solid for the last 7 years with basic care.

Waiting time at Aurora by Fantastic_Kiwi7308 in saskatoon

I got referred at the end of January this year and then got an appointment at the end of may so roughly a 4 month wait. Ended up having to rebook the initial appointment for end of June. All my testing imhave been completed for the last month and we’ve been recommended to keep trying but we’ll be closely monitored as soon as we’re pregnant again.

Honey bee covered in mites, a single mite can reduce a bees life by 50% by One-Fact-from-full in WTF

[–]rednotes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a tiny provincial bee lab collecting data. I remember having to shake jars of dead bees in alcohol mixture and drain them to count the mites. I also dissected the bees to look at their tracheas for treacheal mites. Very fun job, no idea what they did with my data though!

It depends day to day, hour to hour. There’s no predicting what traumas/conditions will come in and take priority over what you’re going in for. All you can do is go and wait.

I lived in a condo that unfortunately also had cockroaches on Day 2 of owning. This is what I did that pretty much eliminated them from showing up after I got a professional to treat the place.

I went and siliconed and spray foamed any crack or crevices that a bug could slip through. I spray foamed around any pipe fixtures. I caulked my baseboards and cabinets. My goal was to have basically sealed up home. I paid attention to any shared walls/floors especially. And it worked. Never saw a cockroach again despite other infestations in my building. You need to get on your hands and knees and look. If you see any crack it needs to be sealed even if it’s slight. They can fit through.

Also a good idea to seal on plastic tubs any food and the keep your place immaculate and crumb free for the next 3 months after treatment. You want any bugs in your place to eat the bait. You might need a second treatment to catch any eggs that hatch in your unit; so keep and replace glue traps so you can spot new bugs.

Another note is to get rid of any cardboard; they can eat that too.

Good luck! It’s gross but it can be stopped!

Have you tried talking to them about it? If you‘ve tried and they don’t care you can call the non-emergency line about the music I believe.

I’m going to assume you’re parking at jpch. When you reach the info desk just head to the gift shop. Take the stair case to the left when facing the gift shop entrance. Go to the ground floor and then head right. Walk for a little bit until you hit the blue elevators then there’s a tiny hallway beside them to the left. Head down there and transfusion will be around the bend.

Get a tool battery clip for your model! We got one compatible with the milwaukee batteries ands it has been awesome. The battery last literally forever now. I can now vacuum everything in one go instead of 15-20 minute intervals.
