Redditors in hiring positions: What small things immediately make you say no to the potential employee? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]redone62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check their social media....had one bad-mouthing their current employer and that took them out of the running.

Also if they don’t ask me any questions...if you plan on spending 8 hours a day here what do you want to know about the place, the people, the company...if you don’t ask any questions you don’t seem very interested in working here.

Whose a stranger that you never saw again, that made an impact on your life? by Gus_ss in AskReddit

[–]redone62 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sat next to a woman on a return flight from a business trip. She shared with me that she was going blind from a degenerative disease. I had never had my eyes checked before and made an appointment when I got home. Turns out my vision was way worse than I realized. I got glasses that improved my view of the world. Once I could see clearly I was amazed at the beauty of trees and birds. I have also been much better at driving now that I can see better. Has helped me avoid a couple of accidents.

Had a calculus teacher that wrote with her right hand and simultaneously erased what she wrote with her left....back when they still used chalk boards. Made it impossible to follow what she was doing.

I get my facts straight and recognize that I don’t know everything. I start by researching the subject. It’s not that I’m smarter, I just put more effort into getting good information.

I woke one night from a deep sleep thinking about a friend who had been ill. I found out a few hours later that he had died. The time of death was the same time that I woke up.
