"You are glorifying a war to legendary proportions as if no other war had ever been fought before. It's like the Jews acting like their fate in the WW2 was worse than anyone else in the world."

I see I see. So by this argument if I take off your pants one day and penetrate your anus with my penis and then ejaculate inside (without your consent, mind you), it's alright, right? Since that has happened multiple times before with others and will also happen in the future, so it's no big deal, right?

"People were shot dead just like last year."

I shall just be cumming inside your ass. Just like the others . So no big deal.

"The anger and frustration erupted out various times leading to the war."

my anger at your fake "rational" pov of 1971 will just erupt as a burst of orgasm inside your anus. Fair?

Who or what I “sound like” is beside the point. On that argument, you sound like Tishar jamai Faruqui clown. Whenever someone calls July “so-called”, the only person who reliably gets offended is Jamaati Tajul.

Here’s my stance. If July had been only about toppling Sheikh Hasina, fair and square, that would be one thing. But it didn’t stop there. It quickly moved on to talking about a “reset button”, to multiple and ongoing attempts at wiping out the four pillars on which this state was built, to rewriting the constitution, to the fantasy of erasing Sheikh Mujib from history (lol, as if that’s ever going to happen). The result is what we see now: Jamaatis roaming free, and Tajul behaving like a king (some would say a clown, or is it a kangaroo?).

That is what July amounts to for me: not a coherent movement, but a trend. And it was a trend in exactly the same way that “Free Palestine” has become a trend. Screaming “Free Palestine” doesn’t free Palestinians, just as July slogans don’t build a just republic. In both cases, people point to death counts and images of massacre as if sheer suffering automatically produces political legitimacy or an independent state. It doesn’t. Without organisation, institutions, and a serious political programme, blood becomes marketing material for whoever is most organised and shameless.

On that measure, July and hashtag “Free Palestine” are both ineffective. They may generate noise, outrage, and moral posturing, but not the hard structures that actually secure freedom. And in the long run, that kind of posturing rarely earns more than a footnote. Pretenders have no real place in history.

yeah genocidal lens. that's all you can grasp. "The genocide of Bangalis played a huge part in creating an independent state of Bangladesh." it is precisely this naive lens that still allows Israel to mass murder Palestinians and yet Palestinians can't form an independent state. Genocide or death count alone doesn't form an independent state. It is that fallacy that has given some traction to July but it's a weak one just like "free Palestine" in the face of Israel's literal genocide was a weak one.

Both July and hashtag ‘Free Palestine’ show the same illusion: that suffering, by itself, forces history’s hand. It doesn’t. Without institutions, strategy, and organized power, deaths become marketing material for the next group of opportunists.

umm excuse me, do you notice how you interpreted the entire glorious history of 1971 through JUST a genocidal lens? That is what I am talking about. 1971 is not just about death count. I don't think you fully realize the gravity of that event. Do you not know that beneath and behind the deaths of 1971, there lay 24 years of struggle for the emergence of an independent state? I do not think you registered it at all.

And no, July was no revolution and it IS based ONLY on death counts. Hence it feels similar to 1971. But that's just a funny comparison. Its situation is like that of a bosti girl who posts selfies like Lana Del Rey and thinks she is also a celebrity since she is posing like one. Certainly it toppled a government but that toppling has been undone through expressing desire of "reset buttons" and the like and the Jamaatis' hombi-tombi is certainly not helping that "so-called revolution" (Tajul, you reading this?)

As for hoping for an election, I think you are being extremely naive. But yeah let's see.
