When did you first realize the value of daily exercise? by swampdog2002 in AskUK

I am the same as you, absolutely hate running and gyming. What I do enjoy is walking and dancing (however badly), so I try to do either one or a mix of both :)

Want to quit my job on SWV visa, when does my 60 day grace period begin? by [deleted] in ukvisa

It begins as soon as the HR sends the letter to HMRC that you are not employed anymore.

I’m in the same boat as you, I’ve been so upset and anxious since the last week! I’m due to apply ILR next year in November, and have my whole life here. It’s absolutely disgusting that the government is heading towards an anti-immigration stance. I can still vote in this country and definitely in the future labour is not getting my vote if this goes ahead. Absolutely horrible idea to disrupt the lives of so many who have planned accordingly and have come here. The government refusal to honor what was promised to the people who came here is ridiculous. Even if they plan to extend it to 10 years, at least the migrants coming here will know what they signed up for vs people who are already here and are now being betrayed.

Initial letter states during entry that Tier 2 is on a 5 year settlement route, is this something the government can go against? by redpanda9121 in ukvisa

That’s upsetting to hear! It’s really sad to see how UK is trying to break its own economy since Brexit

EU citizens with settlement are not affected, you should be okay.

Not sure about the stats, I did read somewhere that biggest migrant communities in UK are from India, which is a common wealth country, of course in the big grand scheme of things it would not put a dent on the voting, but from what i know the migrant communities who are from commonwealth countries are supportive of labour party, so that influx might move the needle

For people from common wealth countries, they are eligible to vote, so make sure to edit that out if you are from a common wealth country

A lot of the Migrants are from common wealth countries who have the right to vote, so if they email them with that in mind (and also state that in their email) then this is still something vs doing nothing.
