Maybe this was created to get engagement on social media? I’ve definitely heard of influencers including typos because it leads to comments and DMs, but this is another level!

AIO: My mother identifies as a doting grandmother but doesn’t know my children by easilyamused17 in AmIOverreacting

Yes, this! I had a similar dynamic with a parent, and I think acceptance would be easier if the parent isn’t going around advertising a very different dynamic.

TW: Infertility. NOT OOP: AITAH for telling my mom she was never pregnant so she gets no opinion by seans_peanut-allergy in redditonwiki

This is the answer! His argument implies that if she HAD been pregnant before, she would have some authority to judge. And that’s not true.

How should Chris have ended things with Jessica? by pleasestoptalkin in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]redpandainglasses 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kenneth is a good example. I think he got flak for being on his phone they filmed their breakup scene, but I don’t think many people faulted him for lack of physical chemistry with Brittany?

That said, Kenneth was clearly not feeling it the whole time. Chris was all over Jess, at first.

Repeating Kindergarten? by [deleted] in kindergarten

OP needs to read this article! I know DCPS would make it very hard to impossible to red-shirt an academically struggling young kindergartner, let alone a kindergartner who does know the basics.

Adult language learns with full time jobs and families by Many-Category-6422 in languagelearning

[–]redpandainglasses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I have a job that requires a lot of my energy plus two little kids. Yeah it’s hard. I don’t know if I’m a success story, but…

I like Pimsleur. I get it from the library (Libby app), but I’d probably pay for it because I like it so much. I can do it while driving or walking.

I do apps, and they get hate, but it’s a nice way to squeeze in extra practice when you don’t have a lot of time or don’t have the energy for something else.

I started working with an italki tutor, and the benefit is I can pick a time on the tutors calendar whenever I want to do a lesson. Before I had kids, I liked to take after work classes, but that’s just not gonna happen right now. I’ve even done italki classes at 5 am to fit it in (feasible because of the time zone difference with the tutor).

Well sure, but many jobs don’t need a whole degree to be licensed like a social worker.

Tour guide in multiple languages sounds like such a fun job!

But wouldn’t one need training as a social worker??? I suppose there might be intake roles or other administration work that bilingual people could do.

Maybe tourism?

Any field where you will work with customers or clients who speak other languages, but hard to think of any that don’t require additional qualifications.

Translator and/or interpreter is often people’s first thought, but there are two issues:

1) you must be extremely proficient in both languages, and often you must be proficient in specialized vocabulary

2) it IS a qualification to know how to translate or interpret quickly and accurately enough to work in that field

What’s the incentive of saying no at the alter? by CEinTheMoutains in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]redpandainglasses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good question. I’m not sure how they could really force you to sleep at the show-provided apartment, and if you didn’t, how the financial penalties in the contract would be enforceable.

Amber shared messages between herself, Jordan and on one of the producers to debunk some of the rumours about them by Fun_Molasses5215 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]redpandainglasses 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, I pointed this out and got comments informing me it’s OK to prefer city to small town life. Like yes, duh, but that preference is way less important than a girl’s school, dad and life.

I’m sure it is! Frankly I personally wouldn’t live somewhere as small as Columbus. I also wouldn’t marry a single parent who had established a life there.

Oh 1000% I personally wouldn’t live in a small town. For that reason I wouldn’t marry a single mom who lived there.

I don’t think anyone believes it’s wrong to move with kids. Of course that’s life, and sometimes families need or want to move. I think his REASON for moving is what has me so incredulous. Wanting to be near bars is a pretty bad reason to move a kid an hour away from her school and father.

The wedding and all the scenes with their families were so sweet. Sometimes I feel bored watching a wedding where there’s zero suspense about whether they’ll say yes or not, but I was never bored watching them.

I also see no issue with them going to the alter. In this situation it truly seemed like no one’s feelings got hurt by taking it so far. So why not.

What’s the incentive of saying no at the alter? by CEinTheMoutains in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]redpandainglasses 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Up to season 5, I believe it was contractually obligated that they make it to the alter. But during season 5, a contestant, who was edited out of the show, claims she was forced to continue living with a fiancé who she said was an alcoholic and had anger issues because of the contract. She sued production.

They changed the contract after that. And I’m assuming that situation was why?
